that's not your main kitchen?
The whole basement is bigger than some condos here that go for 1/2 mil!

Looks real good dom. Though, I was kind of envisioning the pole in the first picture would have been changed to brass for "entertainment" purposes

Its small as far as basements go. Only about 650 sq-ft of finished area.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I really wanted to build a built in entertainment unit on that wall but I just wanted to get this over and done with. I've blown enough weekends on this project as it is. Backsplash is up next. And I'm picking up a round kitchen table which is perfect for poker.

moeronn, I tried but the wife wouldn't go for it.

Kitchens sell houses so 2 kitchens ain't bad!
Well at least that's what I thought when I saw it. I would be excited if I found a house with a kitchen in the basement, so much potential!

The kitchen is probly overkill. But I put it in because its convienent. Having a party or something down there makes its easy. You can wah dishes and basically do eveything you need to do without having to drag everything upstairs. And we actually plan to stay down there quite a bit and make use of it. One of my buddies finished his basement and watching him go up and down, up and down getting drinks food and going to the bathroom convinced me to put them both in down there.

Not to mention it helps out with the value of the house.

And its vented to the outside. Had to drill a 3 or 4" hole through the brick for that.

Ikea.

I definently wouldn't say their of the best quality but not to shabby either. Their solid pine albeit peices of pine. All three peices ran me $669 CAD. Better than the particle board units I saw that were 800+.

Easy to put together too.

Looks sweet Dom!

I see you've completed your Italian status with the second kitchen. Good work!

When your cooking the lasagna upstairs, you need somewhere to cook the veal

I think you have to be Italian to see all the possibilities. I've already made great use of the second fridge when having people over. Its great for drinks and fruit.

Good job, Dom! Looks great! How long (total) did it take you to do all this, and did you do it all on your own?
