Will my stomach shrink?

I think the drinking of 5-10 light beers/day for 7 years has caught up to me. I pretty much quit drinking a few months ago and I have been gaining weight because I'm hungrier than ever.

Is my stomach enlarged from drinking so much beer? Wouldn't water do the same thing?

Anyways, what are some good snacks that are filling but healthy? I hate having this new recently developed gut and it completely makes me have no self esteem.

Beer guts are not literally filled with beer

It's all the calories in the beer that made you a fattie just like if you ate twinkies everyday. No if you drink water your gut will not become distended, well it will but not like that just a full stomach type deal.

Go on a diet and run your ass off....bye bye beer gut

Water will not make your stomach big. I see you found my thread where I list some good things to do and eat.

<-----I said bye to my beer gut recently. I do miss him sometimes....

I would imagine you're horribly fat now too. '

Someone said it best (I think on these boards actually), a beer belly is one of the most time consuming and long term investments in your life. Just think of how much time, energy, food/money it's taken to sculpt and shape that round extension of your mid section.

It's actually not that bad... I can suck it in and my stomach is more than concave- but still, I don't see it getting any smaller. I'm 6'4"- 197 lbs

Whiskers, do situps work well on the stomach or is it really going to require a lot of cardio?

Situps will harden (lots of situps) what you have. Even then, it won't get rid of the excess skin.

Cario is the only way to get the belly down.

I did twists a lot (with a little weight, sit down, put the weight to the left of you, then center, then right, then center, then repeat. Do this without moving your legs).

Well, my abs are about 3/4" below my skin surface at the fattest part of my belly. So I'm not too sure I have any excess skin.

I have a nice Precor Eliptical Trainer that the wife had to have a few years back that I got after the divorce. I think I will start there, as well as do situps and eat less often and more frequently.

I like the elipical. Just eat less of the right foods. You will notice a difference by giving up beer.....
