Static vs. Dynamic Stretching

I usually do static stretching, but I read in Men's Health that you should do static stretching before you workout. They say dynamic stretching is best to avoid injury.

Which do you do?

I've read that as well. I've been doing dynamic stretching the last week and a half and haven’t noticed a difference. I think I will keep doing it since its better before a workout.

From what I read in Men’s Health dynamic stretching involves movements like jumping-jacks, squat thrust, body weight lunge, etc to loosen the muscles. It is suppose to be better because traditional stretching (static) actually weakens your muscles and increase the chances of injury. They say static stretching is best after a workout.

Well in that case......
We always do some sort of dynamic stretching at CFE. Never really thought about it, but I guess it makes sense.
