rubber floor mats
so i bought these rubber floor mats from amazon to do workouts in my garage..
well lemme tell you they're alright but if i do any intensive work outs they either slide around a bit or just split apart at the puzzle joints
do you guys have any better suggestions that dont break the bank and not so permanent?

It depends.. is the area square or rectangular (7x7 or 5x10)? Is this for martial arts (ground workouts, footwork, kicking bag) or just something to put your weights on and keep your feet cushioned and warm? If it's just for a home gym, those mats will work. I suggest duct taping the seams and edges to keep them stable.
For Martial Arts
thick EVA foam, tatami texture. Spend more and get something good, especially if you're going to use the space a lot:
(rectangular 5' x 10' x 1.25" (50 sq ft roll), $229 - pricey but good)

(9 squares - 40" x 40" x 1" (100 sq ft), eva foam, $199 - not bad considering it's double the area)
(25 squares - 2' x 2' x 0.75" (100 sq ft), eva foam, $119 - on a budget, double area)
There are tatami mats that velcro together but unless it's butted against the walls.. they tend to separate as well. https://shop.dollamur.com/product_p/733m.htm

I swear this discussion is in another thread..

Get thicker tatami mats. Those mats you have may tend to get slippery with a lot of sweat and I would suggest better support cushioning for you body, at least 1" EVA foam.

We use those in our 12x12 room, but, we have a universal, stationary bike, and power tower in there and it keeps it in place.
We have new carpeting underneath, then a layer of plastic for spill protection and then the mats.

hmm.. so i bought another set of these, thinking a larger surface area would be better and prevent them from sliding around.
well they still slide around and split apart at the joints when doing exercises.
and they are kind of slippery...
will the ones you guys posted above not slide around when on concrete?
and how easy will they split apart at the joints?
i also think i need more thickness () also when i do some exercise that i land on my hands i notice my wrists start to hurt a bit
