Has anyone noticed that when it gets either really hot or really cold, people skip the gym altogether?
the 24 Hour Fitness by my mom's house is basically Asian central with some hispanics... We all know Asians can be night owls... when it's hot, people just go hit the gym later... I mean like... REALLY late... I've walked in at 11:30pm/midnight before and it would still be packed... I guess because it's cooler at night... During the day, even with AC, the gym can still be pretty warm
Speaking of refugees, holy shit I saw the worse plastic surgery last night on this South American chick. My gf and I were literally . I felt really bad for her, not sure if infected but my gf says she might not be. She had put fillers in her face, did her tits, has like 0 waist, and super wide hips Looked disgusting esp since the fillers were like brown so it had looked like she had brown blotches on her cheeks.

Ugh terrible last night. So I'm at the squat rack about to do some squats, when a guy who was using the station directly across from me wanted to put away the barbell he was using. He goes from his station over to my station and puts it in this hole that the 5# weight is leaning against. (The pic was taken after i had already moved it)
Wtf... I tell him that I can't do my exercise with it there but he just ignores me and walks away.
So I blurt out "you've got to be kidding me"
Everyone else around me was looking at the situation and just shaking their head
So I had to take it out and move it back to his station.
Went to a different location that I've never been to and was shocked how polite the people are. 2 different younger dudes called me sir when asking if I was using something but with a very sincere town as if I was 73. Fucking grey hairs I just turned 37 last week!!! Even the spanish 1st language dude asked me in poor english. I was impressed. That same guy in another location 10 miles north would be like Oye!
I don't think I've posted this before but I've seen this several times...
the guy that doesn't want to share, and has earphones (or as in yesterday's experience, he had on those large earmuff like Beats headphones on), and between sets he just looks down at his phone texting, or browsing or whatever, but it was blatantly obvious that he didn't want to make eye contact with anyone because he just doesn't want to share
This guy. First of all, he completely ignores the "Out of Order" sign, but then again... not that it matters because he's texting or something for the longest time, and 2nd wears sunglasses in the gym. That's gotta be one of my biggest fucking pet peeves
Although at my gym I might need them for he bench press, some moron at 24 decided to place the benches right under some bright ass lights. I swear I'm gonna go blind bench pressing.
...oh did I mention he watches YouTube videos DURING his sets? (there's paper towel dispenser just to the right of the machine, I had to get some to wipe down my elliptical, and I looked to see what he was watching)
Damn shame. As slutty as chicks dress to the gym (I do love it though) you can't be harassing them like that.
Speaking of teens, I was doing some squats and these 2 asked how many I have left. Since I take a break long enough to fit them in I allowed them to work in with me. They were really nice but holy shit they just jumped right to 225. 0 warmup. The bigger one did it ok form was decent. The skinnier one was going like 1/4 squat down and shaking like a vibrator. I was legit scared I'd have to stop him from falling back. Plus his legs were so far wide. Luckily he went down to 1 plate
Speaking of slutty chicks and squats, lately I've been seeing these 2 cute girls coming to the gym and doing squats and weights and stuff. However their form with the squats is pretty bad. 1/4 squat down, super wide stance & rounded back.
Kind of tempted to give them some pointers but I'm too chicken
Dang Mizouse. Nice assessment on squatting don'ts. You paid attention to your trainer Yeah dude you gotta be careful if you're going to go with that move. The first thing the girls will do is look you up and down and assess if you should be giving advice. You could know more than Ahhnold, Joe Weider, and Jay Cutler combined but unless you look like them, they won't care.
I worked for years in the bodybuilding supplement industry and majority of the customers and idiots. Not all. But some of these guys and girls are so dumb, It amazes me that they are surviving in this world.
A typical example which baffles my mind and it happens almost 90% of the time. You would have one protein shake, one says 50g of protein for 2 scoops, and another says 25g for 1 scoop. And almost always, customers would say "I like this one better because it has 50g per serving"
I can go on and on.
No wonder the supplement industry is such a profitable business, you can literally sell snake oil and they would buy it.
Old guy walks into the gym earlier today, gets on a treadmill and starts walking. Only 3-4 minutes later hops off and gets on the neighboring crosstrainer/elliptical-- with the treadmill still running. Pedals away on that for another <5 minutes then gets back on the treadmill. He kept hopping back and forth between the two machines, only spending a few minutes on each. The treadmill was spinning along the entire time.

leaving the treadmill running is soooooooo unsafe. I used to work at the gym and on a handful of times people have walked up to the treadmill, but perhaps looking up at the TVs (maybe a game was on) and wearing headphones... so they're not looking at the conveyor belt and can't hear it running, they step on the running treadmill and immediately do a face plant. Yeah, I know people might say that's their fault for not looking, but actually it really isn't... because when people walk up to a treadmill, it's it under the assumption that it shouldn't be operating since there's no one on it.
