It's caught my eye but for the same price of a full carbon Dura Ace bike, I"d rather buy the bike and go outside to ride instead..

Granted I live in a place where i CAN go riding in the Winter

How about a regular bike, a Wahoo Kickr, and a subscription to Zwift!

Too much $$$, and I always preferred to work out on a real bike fitted to me.

I haven't sprung for an active resistance trainer either; I can get a solid workout just by selecting the right gears.

A bike you already own on an active resistance trainer and your choice of on line training to go with it is my recommendation too.

Stationary riding sucks. Period.

I still haven’t used the one I bought. Trainer that is.

if something like an online class via streaming motivates you, Go for it!!!
however; most products are just trying to get your hard earned dollars. Especially supplements. (you can get all your nutrients from real food)

motivation comes from within. if you dont have it when you buy the bike, it likely wont get used

Motivation is not the issue, convenience can be though. I usually wake up at 4:30-5:30 am to go to the gym just so I can avoid the crowd in the evening, plus parking can be a hassle in the city. This would help fuel my workouts in home instead of driving to the gym, I do enjoy biking but its too cold now and spin classes are expensive (Soul Cycle, Flywheel, etc) I was wondering if anyone has used the product and how good the classes/videos are.

Sounds like a GREAT plan to me!
I didn't want to commute to the gym any more either, so i bought my own weights...
my motivation falls off sometimes...as it's easier just to do stuff around the house, or watch tv.

however; I find if I tell myself to exercise,to get "better everyday" , or leave reminders to just do it, then I have no excuses.
kinda like paying yourself first.

Good luck!!

as for the streaming aspect; I'm sure the videos are full of pumped of instructors and classes!! as that's what the website has me to believe. Since they are recorded for the sole purpose of streaming; I doubt you'll have "bad instructors"

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. While, yes, your basic macros (fat, protein, carbs) can be met through eating well, there is other stuff, such as Branch Chain Amino Acids, Glutamine, Creatine, etc. that you will not get enough of, no matter what you eat. You can even throw pre-workout and Citraline Mallate into that mix and anything of the likes. Do you need it? No. But if you want to maximize your efforts...

I agree- you don't need protein powders, etc. They just help make life easy. But there are benefits to them, too. For example, my post workout shake is a fast absorbing whey protein that helps satiate starving and damaged muscles. You can't necessarily get that from diet. To an extent, yes. But in it's entirety? ehhhh... I'm not going to start drinking a gallon+ of milk everyday. You'd then be ingesting a ton of calories- likely way more than necessary, to get some of those building blocks in their appropriate levels.

When I saw BCAA's I was like uhhh. Taco, that "supp" has been debunked. Sure a protein shake is convenient if you have no options. I think outside of creatine in 75% of the population, that's about it for legal stuff that works.

it gets pretty bad in the Youtube fitness world..every fitness youtube personality has their OWN line of supps. Every single one of them is hawking their own brand. and I get it. people want this magical substance to help them along with their fitness journey. this industry has been like this for 30-40 years. No one needs a pre-workout supp! a single banana provides 90 minutes of energy. add a cup of black coffee and you've just made your own pre-workout.

Especially lately that YouTube has lowered payouts and made the rules tougher. Bros gotta get a job again. Or sell duck eggs for $699 like fake natural lifter Mike O'Hearn

The only "supplements", that I use are energy gels (chewables) that I take while I am riding, and drinks while I am riding. everything after that is just normal food.
for a recovery drink, Chocolate milk.

Sorry for the threadjack. Hey if you got the cash to buy this, all activity is good activity. It won't replace a weight training or high intensity routine but you'll get the heart pumping.

i think those are fine; as they are designed to be used during a marathon.

Did Jack Lalanne use any of these "supplements?" I think he just ate healthy foods (no man made stuff) and took basic vitamins.

^later on in his life; he marketed and hawked nutritional supplements, but yes, always a proponent of natural eating.
Funny enough, I worked at Bally Total Fitness and that's who Mr. Lalanne sold his health clubs to!
