SAme here man.. Even after ready Whiker's posts i still did both at the same time. Body just got tired and caused these 3 to 4 month lazyness. But now this thread just might of triggered something. I am going to try just cardio and some workout. Work outs of only push ups and pull ups..

How you weight right now man.. I was at 239 then went down to 183 then went back up to 202, and now at 220. I wish i would have been determined when i was at 183 to keep on going.

If you fix your diet you'll start losing weight just fine.

I lost 50lbs without ever doing a minute of cardio. Not that it doesn't help, but you have got to have your diet in shape first.

yea, when i was doing a ton of cardio i was losing weight pretty fast, but then my friend whose cut buff etc whatever, suggested that i should lift instead, so i started doing that fall quarter, didnt notice my weight drop as much. although i did like how my arms were feeling after lifting..

i think my plan is gonna be strictly cardio and then when i get to a low enough weight start lifting weights to get muscle.

and i guess push ups to get arms like that

I'm going to be a dick and call a spade a spade. Your body getting tired didn't cause shit. You wussed out like a girly-man and didn't stick to your workouts. You've let yourself sit and eat like shit for 3-4 months because you're a pussy. A giant, blubbering vagina that chose to give in instead of put a little effort into finding something that worked better for him.

But now this thread just might of triggered something. I am going to try just cardio and some workout. Work outs of only push ups and pull ups..

You can't just get to a weight you like and stop. Going from 183 to 173 or 163 wouldn't have made a difference for you at all, b ecause you got to a weight and went right back to your old habits. YOU CAN'T DO THAT. I've never wanted to say this b ecause it's so cliche, but it's the truth - getting fit and staying fit requires a lifestyle change. It isn't some bullshit you do for 6 months and then forget about.

You can't make an inference from just your single experience.

How long were you doing cardio before switching to weight lifting? How much and how often? How intense was your weight lifting? Did you account for the fact that while losing fat you were building muscle thanks to your noob gains? What did your diet look like?

I see a ton of you talking about what Amir did to lose the weight in terms of exercise. What I don't see anyone doing is discussing what they were eating when their weight loss failed compared to what Amir ate.

i was doing cardio for about 3 months (over the summer) before switching to weight lifthing, did cardio everyday for 45 minutes. weight lifting was kinda intense i suppose, varied muscles everyday.

true i suppose i couldve been building muscle, but i think right now thats not what i want. too much fat covering it. anyways my diet back during the summer was about 1200 - 1500 calories a day. and drank a ton of water.

well right now i dont think my weight loss really failed, like i think ive maintained what ive lost +- 3 lbs since then, just need to get back into my 1200-1500 calorie intake and exercise again to continue the weight loss.

Have you done any research about the stomach surgery yet?

I tried your plan for a couple of weeks, 1200 calories a day + cardio and honestly I started losing weight a bit faster than I wanted (want to maintain muscle at the same time) so I've started eating a bit more but it definitly works.. I saw the most drastic change when I tried it and even now I can see a difference in places I was trying to lose fat.
