How much water do you drink during your workout?

How much water do you drink during your workout?
Since it takes a while for the body to absorb water, i try and drink 500 ml - 1L an hour before i get to the gym. While I'm working out I probably drink about 2L of water.

I only carry around a small 500 ML water bottle. The regular kind you can buy anywhere by the case. I just refill it at the fountain when its empty. Plus the walking to the fountain is good cardio
