Bicycle ride report (pics) 56k ok!

There's a man made lake ~6 miles from my house if I go the most direct route. For those who have never been to San Diego it's a fairly hilly area. On this particular ride I went the longer way w/more hills. The hills ranged from 3-12% - usually a 1/2 mile and more worth of climbing per hill. The lake is fairly flat but it's always windy (10-15 mph) and there are plenty of people walking, blading and riding. It used to be really cool because you could ride 5 mile loops around the lake but they closed off the dam after 9/11 so now it's 4 miles and you have to turn around.
If there's enough interest by the cyclists keep this thread a live w/ride reports.
Pics from my camera phone.

How do you monitor this? Is it a special heart rate monitor you can attatch to your computer?

I have a Polar S510/520 Heart Rate Monitor that talks to the PC and stores any exercise up to something like 16hours. the only downside, is it only stores all the data on the very last ride, so if you don't download every time you ride, you lose data.

Took the day off from work and did a nice easy 40 mile ride in 2:10 with an average of 18.4 mph. With absolutely perfect weather 72 degrees and no wind.

I had to take it easy as I had to come home and rake and relocate the gravel on my driveway.

rode yesterday and today, here's my graphs, check out the difference between riding alone, and with friends. In Tuesday's ride i met up with them at the 54minute mark, and we parted ways about 10minutes from the end of my ride.

Finally, Sun. After 8 days of rain.

Went out on my old mountain bike (road tires) because of all the crap that has fallen on the roads and just didn't feel like riding the road bike and it is a good thing too, as I had to ride though a lot of downed branches and was forced through thick sand a few times.

Did an hour and a half probably around 20 miles (odometer is dead).
It did feel good to get back on the bike outside after being cooped up for the 15" of rain in 8 days.
