Replacing backup light on 2012 TL
#2
1. buy reverse led lights (use search button, there are tons of threads)
2. open trunk
3. take off tabs that holds the carpet to the backside of the tail lights, should be 1 tab and a knob to unscrew.
4. bend the carpet back, and get your wrench and unbolt the 3 long bolts that is holding the tail light to the car.
5. use something flat to push the tail lights away from car from inside the trunk. you can use like a flat piece of metal to push against the 3 bolts that is sticking out.
6. take out your reverse light and replace it with led (make sure to not use your fingers to touch the bulb, use a piece of tissue paper to pick it up
7. put the taillights back on the car but do not bolt it back up.
8. do a test run, turn car on accessory on, and put the car in reverse (do not start car, and make sure to pull ebrake just incase you do)
9. if everything good, bolt everything back up

Not to hi-jack this thread, but i got one question. Anyone know how to disable the front parking lights? (also act as the turn signal). I want to disable them so that they only go on when i hit the turn signal switch.

If you want the front bumper turn signal to be able to just signal, then just cut one of the wire from the socket. So when you have your parking light/headlamp on, the bumper signal will not comes on. It will only comes on when you use the blinker.

One more question, how do i reach that socket?
Do i have to remove the front bumper or by lifting the front end up and going under the car is enough, and also if there are multiple wires, which one to cut? I don't want to accidentally cut the wrong wire.

Just use a lift or if your car is not lowered you can easily go under and unscrew some screws and some plugs. Also take out some plugs on the wheel wheel too. Pretty simple. It helps to turn the front wheels all the way to access the wheel well.
If you are in the process to reverse your isntallation like put it back to normal set up you can just buy some connectors.

Thanks for the info!

I have.
You have to remove several plastic clips and two bolts holding on the front air dam on the bottom of the car then a couple of clips on the wheel well. You can access it from the wheel well (its all in your manual).
The bulb is in a grey adapter, once you remove the bulb from the adapter cover one side of the connection with electrical tape. By blocking one of the sides it will not cause them to come on with the parking lights. You may have to try both sides.

The chrome bulb will make the housing look clear rather than yellowish
