Remote Key Fob Not Detected... BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!!

In regards to the beeping we get when you step out of the car and close the door with the key fob in your pocket... is there any way I can reduce the volume or turn it off entirely?

It's starting to get annoying and it would be great if there was some way to lower the sound.

Yup, one way to reduce it. Find the beeper and wrap it in foam, or better yet, pull the whole "beep beep" out.

Really? Where is the beeper? Or the beep emitting speaker? Sound appears to be coming from the rear of the car, near trunk.

Are you leaving your car running and walking away that frequently?

I think I saw an option in the driver setting menu to adjust the volume. I will double check that later and report on that.

Yes there is a option to reduce the sound in the customize settings. I lowered mine because I got sick of it screaming at me and people looking.

Is this in the MID? I don't remember seeing anything, but maybe it is on new models. I'm in an '09.

09 TL with tech, to adjust the alarm volume push the start button twice to enter accessory mode.

Go to keyless memory settings > chg settings >meter setup > scroll to adjust alarm volume. Make your change and then save and exit. Unfortunately you can only lower the volume, no option there to switch it off completely.

Sorry but I don't think this works... I just tried it tonight but volume of the beeps remain the same regardless of low, mid or high. Maybe this alarm setting changes something else?
