F-006: 4G DIY - Removing Rear Seats
In the middle of the lower seat there is a retainer clip. You must pull this clip out. I found it works best to push down on the seat while pulling on the clip at the same time. There are two clips one for each side that must be released.
To remove the seat back, there are two screws (10mm) for each side that must be removed.
(screws in the far corner of both pictures)
Works best with two people, but can be done with one person. Lift up on the seat back then pull forward releasing it from the hooks. The seat will release and you can remove it from vehicle to access the rear deck.

I guess the bolts behind the headrest was too hard to deal with. Shoot, I could have my 3G back seats out in 10 minutes or less!... too much practice

Yupp -- I'll be doing my Tein SS by the end of this week with EDFC and the seats will have to come out again. In order to get to the top of the rear shock tower you have to remove the rear seat. I saw many questions about the removal of the back seats - and people's responses... but no actual pictures, so I thought I'd write up a quick pictorial.
It's hard to see... but in the far rear corner you can see the start of the actual shock tower itself in this picture.

I followed this to a "T". However, I pulled the clips out on the lower seat but left the seat slightly in place thinking it would be alright on the way to the shop that installed my Tein SS Coilovers. Dropped the car off and when I went back a few hours later to pick it up, the clips were broke and the lower seat wobbles a little bit. Teins are installed and couldn't be better, I love them and couldn't be happier, clips are not a big deal as no one sits in the back anyways, but I would like to get some new clips to replace them just because. Does anyone know where I can get a new set? I appreciate any help rendered.

HeLLy, in case you haven't done it yet:
https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-2009-2014-123/acura-service-manual-834172/
Service manual is in there (you'll have to find a link that works) and it's under "Rear shelf removal" document.
I'd post it but apparently can't add attachments yet.

Just did this tonight (removed rear seat). FYI where it says "push in and pull up"... don't bother pushing in. You won't need to do that til it pops free. Grab something metal on the under side of the seat and pull up. It'll be obvious when it pops free, then you can wiggle it off the hooks. Pain in my ass.

Final update... was finally able to get the seat out.
Thank you for all the tips, back seat is heavy and sliding it out without rag using a rag on the car floor would have defiantly scratched the paint.
cheers!!
