Do you think now is the best time to buy or lease an 08 TSX? I was told by a Audi salesman once that the month before a new model comes out is the best time to buy last years model because the dealer needs the room on it's lot. Is this true?

If you can still find one...I just bought mine last week, and I had 3 color choices in the NW that had the options I wanted, black, white, and green...so the longer you wait the less cars you'll have to choose from...but yea the closer the '09's are to coming the better the deal. If you can wait til the 09's get here you'd get an even better deal...your problem is just going to be finding one....

GOOD LUCK [=

I agree, we have one white 6-speed left and that's it.

That time would be now. The 2G goes on sale April 24th. There is still a little bit of selection left so hopefully you can get what you want.

A friend of mine test drove an '08 Black/Black 6MT no-nav in Boulder (CO) a couple of weeks ago... I think they were selling it for $25.8k. Great deal. It might have even been an '07. I'm sure that kind of thing is common all over right now, but yes, the selection is very limited.

In the end he decided he wanted something "more luxurious", test drove a IS250 and is saving up for one of those. You just can't account for your friends' tastes... [Although honestly I think the IS250 is a lovely automobile... just not for me]

That's weird. Places around here won't drop the price by much and they have tons of selections. I live in northern NJ

I'm in norther dirty jers too (yes, even though I am a resident I still think it's dirty). The problem in NJ is that it's so conjested, wealthy (when speaking in terms of average income, taxes, etc..), and there are a ton of receiving ports, so stock will probably always be higher than other areas, esp midwest.

I won't be looking for a car until later this month or next month, but I'm hoping to find good deals on leftover '08 TSX's or leftover '08 A4's and A3's. My lease now is at 339 for an '05, so I'm hoping to stick with a small near luxury car and undercut that price.

Any suggestions?

10x

Everyone who's been lurking these forums and considering a TSX are making a run on the remaining '08s...

To the OP,

Yes, once the 09 models start showing up in the showrooms and on the lots the dealers will be more motivated than ever to clear out their remaining 08 inventory. The later you wait the better the price will be but also the less likely that your desired color/tranny/navi combo will be available.

They've arrived in So. Fla. I was at the dealer today. They had 6 2009s!!!! They said they couldn't drive them or sell them but they were dropped off so Acura could do demos for staff. I took pics of them and I'll post them as soon as I can get them off my blackberry, which will be tomorrow AM when I return to the office.

2008 Tsx

There is a $1000 rebate to dealers (not advertised to public) right now on all 08 TSX and $2000 on all 08 TL's.

Car sales are down everywhere....... dealers will deal I guarantee it..... No dealer wants previous year models on their lots when the new ones start to arrive, esp. when there is a body change as on the 09 TSX's.

There are financing incentives on the 2008 model currently in effect, expiring 4/30/08. I found this on edmunds.com:

.9% APR Term: 48 months Get Dealer Pricing
2.9% APR Term: 60 months Get Dealer Pricing
Restrictions Vehicle must be financed through the manufacturer's captive finance company.
Comments Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement.

Leasing
There may be other leases available. Contact a local dealer for more information.
Start: 03/04/2008 End: 04/30/2008 $299 Monthly Payment Calculate Other Monthly Payments
36 Month Term
$1105 Down Payment
NA Security Deposit

Restrictions Lease is based on a 2008 TSX with 5 speed automatic transmission (model CL9688JW) and a $1105 capitalized cost reduction to customers who qualify for the AHFC Super Preferred credit. Dealer contribution may vary and could affect actual lease payment. See your local dealer for details.

I picked one up a couple of weeks ago at the current Honda special.I know the special ends april 1st. I only picked up an 08 because they foudn the color I was looking for which was PWP with ebony interior. Didn't care if it had navigation or not.

I believe there are very few 08's left on dealer lots in the color you may want. The dealer had to go searching through Florida jsut to find the one I got for me.

It's so weird. I saw the same thing here
http://autos.yahoo.com/acura_tsx_5_spd_at-rebates/

I used your link and didn't get the same offer. Only lease incentive. What zip code did u plug in.

But i also found these
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2008/acura/tsx/rebates/
http://www.automotive.com/2008/12/ac...tes/index.html

The acura site actually only has the lease offer.

so which one is correct. The two dealers i went to didn't offer these.

The Acura APR deal is usually in April. It was in April 2 years ago when I got my TSX, and it was in April a year ago for my TSX's anniversary.

I plugged in 90012 for downtown Los Angeles.
I checked www.acura.com and they had the $299/mo. lease but not the 0.9 and 2.9 financing deals for the TSX. They do show the 0.9 and 2.9 for the TL so edmunds and yahoo may have that confused. Still, I agree with SoCaliTrojan, April seems to be when Acura makes an effort to get those 08 out of the dealerships. If your dealer won't work with you on the rate, then maybe he/she will work with you on the price and you can arrange for financing elsewhere.

How much would you pay for an '08 now?

I have no idea. I'd probably target the invoice price. If the dealer is really motivated they may even let them go for under invoice.

Honda doesn't publicly post their incentives. They don't like getting into the so-called rebate game and won't. What they do is provide a "marketing incentive" to their dealers, who can use that allowance anyway they want......which some choose to use for providing a lower selling price. That info is in forums such as this, where you find such information to use as part of your negotiating leverage.

I understand this...and Edmunds usually points this out. Here is the 'marketing support' for the 2008 TL:

Manufacturer to Dealer
Marketing Support
$2500 Cash to Dealer start: 04/01/2008 end: 06/30/2008 Get Dealer Pricing
Restrictions Dealer Cash cannot be combined with the 2008 TL special APR, regional finance dealer cash, dealer lease cash, or lease/purchase plan.
Comments Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement.

This is for the 2008 TSX:

Manufacturer to Dealer
Marketing Support
There is no marketing support available at this time.

So where's the $1000 'marketing support' for the 2008 TSX? I was just asking for a source.

Thanks.

I got my 08 M6 PWP TSX Navi 2 weeks ago.

Although I am in Toronto, Canada, this is what my salesperson told me.

Out of 100 cars shipped to Canada, only around 15 are 6M. Out of the 15 6M, there might be 3 in each colour. Out of the 3, it might be a Navi with black/tan trim, no-navi with black/tan trim. Therefore to get a M6 in your colour it is pretty hard.

Also the last shipment from Japan for 2008 model has gone in about a month ago, well that's for Canada.

Good luck if you are getting the manual, I went to 3 acura dealers before I got mine.

Dealer Rebate

The new car manager told me about them.... As stated they are "dealer-only" rebates to help them clear inventory......

I previously sold cars and as far as I know, almost every auto line does this when the new models are coming in to help clear dealers inventory.

Just go in and ask about the rebate..... most will tell you about them....

I was looking at a Mits. Galant once and the salesman let it slip that the dealers were getting 3K back and when I ask the manager about it he was really mad that the salesman had told me......... there went all his profit out the door...
