Do you think now is the best time to buy or lease an 08 TSX? I was told by a Audi salesman once that the month before a new model comes out is the best time to buy last years model because the dealer needs the room on it's lot. Is this true?

If you can still find one...I just bought mine last week, and I had 3 color choices in the NW that had the options I wanted, black, white, and green...so the longer you wait the less cars you'll have to choose from...but yea the closer the '09's are to coming the better the deal. If you can wait til the 09's get here you'd get an even better deal...your problem is just going to be finding one....

I agree, we have one white 6-speed left and that's it.

A friend of mine test drove an '08 Black/Black 6MT no-nav in Boulder (CO) a couple of weeks ago... I think they were selling it for $25.8k. Great deal. It might have even been an '07. I'm sure that kind of thing is common all over right now, but yes, the selection is very limited.
In the end he decided he wanted something "more luxurious", test drove a IS250 and is saving up for one of those. You just can't account for your friends' tastes... [Although honestly I think the IS250 is a lovely automobile... just not for me]

In Vancouver BC some dealers are still trying to grt rid of some new 07's, so im hoping the 08's stick around in the colours I want till I save up a bit more for a down payment, don't want an 09!

I won't be looking for a car until later this month or next month, but I'm hoping to find good deals on leftover '08 TSX's or leftover '08 A4's and A3's. My lease now is at 339 for an '05, so I'm hoping to stick with a small near luxury car and undercut that price.
Any suggestions?

Everyone who's been lurking these forums and considering a TSX are making a run on the remaining '08s...

To the OP,
Yes, once the 09 models start showing up in the showrooms and on the lots the dealers will be more motivated than ever to clear out their remaining 08 inventory. The later you wait the better the price will be but also the less likely that your desired color/tranny/navi combo will be available.

2008 Tsx
There is a $1000 rebate to dealers (not advertised to public) right now on all 08 TSX and $2000 on all 08 TL's.
Car sales are down everywhere....... dealers will deal I guarantee it..... No dealer wants previous year models on their lots when the new ones start to arrive, esp. when there is a body change as on the 09 TSX's.

I picked one up a couple of weeks ago at the current Honda special.I know the special ends april 1st. I only picked up an 08 because they foudn the color I was looking for which was PWP with ebony interior. Didn't care if it had navigation or not.
I believe there are very few 08's left on dealer lots in the color you may want. The dealer had to go searching through Florida jsut to find the one I got for me.

I used your link and didn't get the same offer. Only lease incentive. What zip code did u plug in.
But i also found these
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2008/acura/tsx/rebates/
http://www.automotive.com/2008/12/ac...tes/index.html
The acura site actually only has the lease offer.
so which one is correct. The two dealers i went to didn't offer these.

I checked www.acura.com and they had the $299/mo. lease but not the 0.9 and 2.9 financing deals for the TSX. They do show the 0.9 and 2.9 for the TL so edmunds and yahoo may have that confused. Still, I agree with SoCaliTrojan, April seems to be when Acura makes an effort to get those 08 out of the dealerships. If your dealer won't work with you on the rate, then maybe he/she will work with you on the price and you can arrange for financing elsewhere.

This is for the 2008 TSX:
Manufacturer to Dealer
Marketing Support
There is no marketing support available at this time.
So where's the $1000 'marketing support' for the 2008 TSX? I was just asking for a source.
Thanks.

I got my 08 M6 PWP TSX Navi 2 weeks ago.
Although I am in Toronto, Canada, this is what my salesperson told me.
Out of 100 cars shipped to Canada, only around 15 are 6M. Out of the 15 6M, there might be 3 in each colour. Out of the 3, it might be a Navi with black/tan trim, no-navi with black/tan trim. Therefore to get a M6 in your colour it is pretty hard.
Also the last shipment from Japan for 2008 model has gone in about a month ago, well that's for Canada.
Good luck if you are getting the manual, I went to 3 acura dealers before I got mine.

Dealer Rebate
The new car manager told me about them.... As stated they are "dealer-only" rebates to help them clear inventory......
I previously sold cars and as far as I know, almost every auto line does this when the new models are coming in to help clear dealers inventory.
Just go in and ask about the rebate..... most will tell you about them....
I was looking at a Mits. Galant once and the salesman let it slip that the dealers were getting 3K back and when I ask the manager about it he was really mad that the salesman had told me......... there went all his profit out the door...
