ZF Transmission 2017 vs 2018 TLX SHAWD
Spent some time test driving TLX this weekend. Really like the TLX. The one thing holding me back is the ZF Transmission. It seemed fine on test drives, but I've read the problem surfaces later, after a few hundred miles. I could live with minor harsh shifting, but I cannot live with making a left turn on oncoming traffic and have the car hesitate searching for gears, like I've read.
I've heard of all the transmission issues with 2015 and some 2016. How is the ZF in 2017 TLX? What about the ZF in the 2018?
I liked the 4 cyl, but don't think I want to downgrade to a 4cyl from a 3G TL. SHAWD is worth it, just torn on that ZF.
It's tough to get much of a deal on 2018 but there are very good deals on the remaining 2017s. I am in no rush and can wait if there really is that much of a difference.

Weird, it seems like you've said the same thing in other threads and are waiting for people to convince you otherwise. If you're not that sure on the ZF then wait it out until the current 2018 owners put some miles in. If you wait long enough the 2nd gen TLX will be here with Honda's 10 speed transmission before you know it. Then the thread will be "I don't want to buy a first year Acura 10speed, should I wait until year 2?"
