New Grill & Tail-lights

Anyone have any recommendations for a new grill (to replace the "bird beak") and/or tailights for my 2015 TLX?

Haven't seen much on the aftermarket.

there is no aftermarket

the best you could do is paint it or vinyl wrap it

I want to get rid of the bird beak grill, something like the new 2018 TLX would be great or even a mesh insert would be good. As far as tail lights go, just something to change from the stock ones so the car has more style.

I hope you know how to do custom body or at least know someone that does because like justnspace said, the aftermarket support for the TLX is pretty weak. It's not an enthusiast car so you won't find many aftermarket support for it.

You can always paint it like I did to mine.

If you're concerned about making any changes that would be hard to reverse, such as painting, perhaps you could consider just having the beak wrapped. This one which was painted seems to have been done very nicely:

I'd go with a wrap bc you can peel it off if you get bored of it or have to return a lease. You can try to get a color matched wrap but that's kinda tough. You'd be better off going with paint for color match.

im going to take the 15 mdx grille and modify it to remove the beak ... the effect im looking for will resemble that of the new grill but still hold the '15 style mesh i dont have photo shop but basically picture the grille underneath the beak to completely fill the grill cut out

Thumbs up

EDIT : im still at work so i did some research all Acura's have different grille designs whit that said the only way to acquire more of the 15-17 grille is to use the grille mesh on the lower grilles .... i have some left over from the lower grilles that didn't have fog lights ( i installed fogs which came with extra lower grilles and i didn't throw the old ones away WIN WIN WIN no money needed

In for pictures, I'm expecting a total train wreck but I hope you prove me wrong.

I ended up wrapping both the grille and front emblem. Not sure if I'll keep it that way, but here it is:

Have you considered leaving the compass (the "A") and the bezel surround unwrapped so that the logo looks like it's floating? Might look pretty cool like that.

Yes I did consider that. However it seems like everyone who wraps the grille does that, and I just wanted to try something different. I can't really decide if i like the wrapped emblem or not. Actually what I think would really look good would be to color match the grille and keep the emblem wrapped in glossy black.

I think the compass/Caliper needs to be a different color to bring a little contrast. thats why leaving it shiny silver works so well

If you're going to change the grille, color match the entire thing (frame + beak). Cuz wrapping just the beak makes it look like a mustache lol.

And keep the emblem stock, even glossy black comes off a bit Pep Boys ish. Can't find any examples for the TLX, but look how natural and OEM+ it looks on 4G's...

As for tails, try getting the China/Russian-spec lamps (just the outer units with the clear corners). The MMC units are barely any different and not worth the trouble IMO.

Love the detail on it but makes it look like a camry imo
