3) MSRP
4) $1000 off MSRP
5) $2500 off MSRP
Only way to get that much off MSRP is for the dealer to sell it at invoice and apply the incentives also. I don't see any dealer doing that right now, but if someone gets that deal more power to you.

Saw a commercial last night for a 2018 TLX, $2899 down and $329 per month for 10K/36 mos. I thought it was 2017 at first but I rewound and it def said 2018. Base, of course.

That's not the A Spec obviously I'm sure 99% of the people here want the Aspec, which they are gouging people on price wise.

Regarding the comments I have seen about "gouging", i thought it would be interesting to unpack the facts. In Canada, all of the existing packages are only $300 more, with significant improvements and additional features. The 2.4 cylinder Tech ASpec is $2500 more than a regular 2.4 Tech. The 2.4 Elite and 2.4 Elite ASPEC are new trim options (cost of $3600 more for the Elite). Those additional amounts are exactly the same for the 3.5 SH-AWD packages, factoring in the same $5200 bump to get the 3.5 and SH_AWD that has always been there. Bottom line, in Canada, you can get the same car with improvements for $300 more, or pay $2500 for the ASPEC version. The price difference has shrunk a little between some competitors, but the quality difference has shrunk significantly (or disappeared). We would all like to get more for less, but is that reasonable?

It is interesting that in the US, the ASPEC package, available only with the 3.5, costs $2900 vs the $2500 in Canada. This represents a 6.8% bump on the 3.5 Technology price, vs. a 5.3% bump on the equivalent car in Canada. Put in a simpler way, the Canadian models cost more but have a slightly less expensive bump to get ASPEC. I am not sure why that is, but I also don't think it would fall in the realm of price gouging.

Of course, the other factor to consider is the manufacturer's interest rates for purchasing or leasing. These interest rates always start a little higher on any new model and eventually decline in time. It's also worth noting that US bank interest rates have been increasing over the past 7 months, which will eventually force Canadian rates up.

Clearly you blokes up north are much nicer than us Americans - so you get a discount on the price

Somebody posted the other day the dealer wanted $1000 per month to lease. Yes that's Canadian but that's ridiculous in any currency for that car. So I'll say yes, they are price gouging on a car with the same exact engine as the previous model with some cosmetic and suspension changes. I got quoted $780 to lease a BMW M3 back in January.

It wasn't gouging or anything of the sort. The member who posted that had 9 months remaining on his current lease, and all those payments needed to be reconciled in the lease payments for the new A-Spec that he was contemplating. Furthermore, the payment of ~$1,000 was for a 30-month lease, which is shorter than the typical 36 or 48 month leases that most people go for.

That's me, correct with 1k including my current lease of 7 months since blue comes in August. It's about 860 with no lease, 30 months, 0 % and 16k km.

Dealership never called me back, even after telling me 3 times in my face "I will call you tomorrow"... my ass. Acura Gravel in Montreal, zero discount even for vip customers. The seller made me laugh, he said he was the only one there authorised to sale Aspec. Acura is high to consider them as distinct as S/M/AMG.

My preferred local dealer sure isn't price gouging. I was quoted pretty decent numbers for a zero-down lease (I only put first month's payment down on leases). If it works out, I'll let y'all know.

I haven't leased in a while, but don't they require you to pay for title and registration up front or are you rolling that into the lease as a whole?

I plan to pay that up front. Vehicle registration charges are very inexpensive in Ohio.

I got the first one from the dealership. I am a long time observer since 2007 when I had my first TSX and relied on this forum for a lot of advice. I currently own a 2010 Acura SH AWD 6spd - MT that is already paid for and plan on keeping for a very long time. Haven't really open the 2018 up fully, just waiting to break it in to make a comparison on the ride. Other than that it's a great ride and the color is better in person.

BK973,
something didn't go right with your post as its all garbled letters and numbers. But i was able to see 2 pics and see you said you have a 2010 TL SHAWD.I have a 2010 TL SHAWD.Mine is auto not 6 speed. But wondering if you can give your comparison of the 2018 ASPEC and your 2010 TL.I wanted to know if they ride different. My 2010 TL has always drove very firm and a little too jittery over road surfaces.Does the 2018 ASPEC feel the same as your 2010 TL?
Thanks in advance.Your Blue ASPEC looks great enjoy

BK973 - can you try to post your pictures again? I removed the three that were embedded in your post as they were somehow corrupt (although they looked perfect in the editor) when posted and coming out as a super duper page lengthening garbled mess!

Silver 01, I've been trying to slowly breaking it in so I kept in "normal" mode to keep from high RPM's. During my test drive with the dealer's awd a spec you will never get full manipulation as you will with a mt, but I was impressed by when I applied the breaks prior to a sweeping turn the engine automatically downshifted literally within a split second and as I accelerated during the turn to get the full benefit of the SHAWD the gear held allowing you to pull yourself through the turn. This was all done on "sport +". The transmission was smooth and the suspension ate up some imperfections while keeping it's composure. Everything felt tight and smooth.
I agree with you on the jitteriness of the 2010 over rough surfaces. The suspension on my 2010 mt feels more firmer in comparison to the 2018. I don't Acura will ever make another car like the 2010 6spd shawd in the near future as this car is a blast to drive in any situation. After 7 years it still seems to keep a smile on my face.

Congrats! Same spec I'm looking at. Where are you from? AWD ASpecs are rare on the west coast. Especially in Blue.

Speed_Racer I have yet to see one other than mine. I'm from Montclair, NJ. About a 15-20 min drive to NYC. I was at the dealership in Montclair Acura getting my car serviced and I happened to be there while they took their first delivery a spec's as they were all front wheel drives. I was amazed at the fit and finish and the new updates. If you are getting it, I think it should a rule to get it in SHAWD. It still amazes me after over 7 years of operating the vehicle. Mated to a 6sp manual it makes you feel like a master of the road, total control and manipulation is just a flick of your wrist. I did not want to get the 2015-2017 due to the conservative look of it especially without the exposed exhaust. I'm happy that I waited to get it.

Thanks. Definitely getting the AWD. I think they're spreading out from Ohio outward. I see more selection on that side of the US right now.

Is it some tactic or do dealers just not know what they're getting in? 3 dealers I'm talking to say they don't know when they're getting Blue/AWD ASpecs. Don't the dealers order their cars?

Dealers do know what they are getting in the sales person or sales manager can log into a system that shows them what cars they are getting and what other dealers have on their lots.

I puchased my 1999 NSX at DCH Montclair Acura 18 months ago. Class group there. I'd buy new there if I lived in the area.

Welcome and enjoy your TLX.

Does Honda let you make multiple security deposits to knock the rate down?

Neuronbob, thank you. Ive dealt with Montclair Acura since 2006 and things have changed recently there especially in their service department. I've changed my allegiance to another dealerhsip where I purchased my a-spec. Ive been reading your posts for a very long time now and it's always insightful.

From my research, it appears the answer is "no". This is the one way I'd put money down on a lease, because you get the MSDs back at the end of the lease. Just for reference, the base MF available on TLX A-Spec leases in my part of the USA is 0.0011, an interest rate of 2.64% (0.0011 x 2400). That's not too bad in the current environment, with the Fed increasing its base interest rate twice in the last few months, even with hotter models getting 0.9% finance interest rates. I bet it'll be lower in three months, though, if the A-Specs don't sell.

The rear valence is gloss black plastic?

Good luck with that.

Was curious about that. BMW just stopped the program this month. My car was ordered end of April so I am in the program. Put down $4500 in MSD's & saved $1800 in interest expense against the standard money factor. The program always made BMW's good deals as far as what they really cost out of pocket. Be interesting to see how the new plan works out for them. Think is a bad idea, for me it opens up a few additional brands to more serious concideration.

Interesting thing is a lot of the guys held off on their deals waiting for the glass instrument display which now can be ordered @ $350. I use the HUD so the glass dash was not a key item for me, looks like I lucked out.

Well, I would suggest that people who are informed and "nice" will usually get better deals over the long haul. Despite the Amazon/Ebay world we live in, such things still count when dealing with people...in my experience.

It was driven from the Acura dealer in Troy, MI to Cleveland. Someone in Troy wanted the white A-Spec I test drove Thursday, and I wanted blue, so the dealers did a switch at no cost to me. The car was delivered to me with 240 miles on it. I don't mind, it's not like this is a rare unicorn like my V wagon, which I specifically request no one touch before I did. I scored a pretty good deal on the car, so I'm good.

Storage under the floor of the trunk instead of a spare tire.
I drove the car straight from the dealer to the grocery store
I did he best I could to capture the light piping. I had to resort to using my phone.
Light piping on the door is a cool feature
