why drop it when you can have best in class ground clearance in the sport sedan segment?

Thats a very slippery slope when you start asking why they couldn't have done this or couldn't have done that.

Having said that, it would be nice if the front, in particular, was about an inch lower, but that's just aesthetics in my opinion. You drop the car, the spring rate needs to be a bit higher, and the ride quality takes another hit. For those younger drivers who want to lower the car, I'm guessing there's a set of Ohlins or H&R coilovers waiting for you. (Sorry, haven't researched lowering options for a TLX.)

To really make it look like a sport sedan?

Just a slight drop to get rid of the gap makes such a big difference. . . Like Sebring said though, there's compromises also to deal with.

I must be getting old. Looking more closely at Speed_Racer's handiwork above, I actually prefer the stock ride height. In fact, I just had a conversation with my front bumper and we both feel the same way. LOL

Had to make a run to the dealer's parts department, and they had this beaut when I walked in. The red looks a lot better in person than I was expecting. Though my heart is still set on the blue if were looking to buy an A-Spec.

Loving the TLX I've had for almost a month now and I couldn't resist a few early mods:
3M Gloss Black roof wrap
Scotchgard bumper paint protection film (highly recommend and I promise you it's there!)
35% SunTek carbon window film

Smile

Been lurking around the forums for a year now and now I finally have something to present. Previous vehicle was a '11 Acura TSX, also in black. It is very much a pain to keep the black paint clean but the color just looks perfect on the car and tones down the rear valance. Call it Stockholm syndrome.

I was able to purchase the vehicle at $41,000. Not as good of a deal as the other fellow member who reduced it to $39,000, but I'm pretty happen with the price regardless.

They actually left it on. It's probably the most radical mod I've done to any of my cars. Highly recommend.

Yes, the shark fin was wrapped as well. They did ask me if I wanted to keep the shark fin white, but who would do that??

That black roof looks fantastic! Did you do any other paint protection besides the bumper?

Thanks! There are other packages that included the rear bumper, but I didn't opt for that. The one I got covers everything to about a quarter of the hood and the side view mirrors. Can't tell at all on the white.

I should be getting my White AWD A-Spec within the next 30 days and my first things I plan on doing are pretty much what you did. 35% tint and Paint protection on the front. You have definitely made me think about adding the black roof to the list!!

Sounds good!
BTW: Make sure your wrap shop has a good plan to wrap the fin because of the curve on the backside and they won't be able to remove the fin without removing the entire headliner. FYI: New Acura fins are $109 and they do come in gloss black, but it's $600 in labor to replace.

Our local dealership closed years ago, so there aren't as many new Acura's around town now (1 TLX). But as of yesterday I finally saw my first Still Night Blue TLX ASPEC (PAWS) and it looked DAMN good. I'd love to get in this car.. but having no monthly car payments > new car... Maybe the new next gen.

Week two with the new TLX and I can't stop staring at it. The lighting, the lines, the wheels...

Please excuse the iPhone pictures. I need to break out the DSLR to give the car some justice.

I have noticed that some of the A-Specs have the rear parking sensors and others do not. Since you cannot combine the Advance package with A-Spec, what's going on there? Thanks.

Are you talking about ones you've seen in person or just in this picture thread? They all should have them. There aren't any packages to add/remove on the A-Specs.

Just on this forum. Perhaps they blend in better in some pictures? Thanks for clarifying that they all have them.

Sorry, keep forgetting our Canadian friends, but US A-Specs can add SH-AWD package and Canadian A-Specs can add the Advance package and/or SH-AWD. But all should have the parking sensors. I haven't had my coffee this morning. . .

Got an extended test drive on a 2018 AWD white A-Spec - Holy crap this car is NICE. Good job Honda. What a fantastic car, superb handling, ultra comfortable while still being light on its feet, plenty of response. I just wish it had more torque for its price point. Like most V6's I have driven, its power band starts at about 3K and start to die down around 1K to redline. It certainly is not a slow car.

What a pleasure it would be to own one of these bad boys. Love the white. Its got a metallic pearl accent. So choice.
