Paint rims in Toronto?

Does anyone know a good place to paint rims in Toronto? i have gold rims now i wanna change them to colour match my white tsx. I called carcone and they said roughly $165 a wheel. Any other places that might be cheaper?

I'm no where near Toronto, but think about what you're asking. First, the tires have to removed (and re-installed, then balanced). Then, with the amount of prep work required, the cost of the paint (and since it's going to be exposed to the worst conditions possible, it had better be pretty good paint), the clear coat (painted wheels are clear coated), it should come as no surprise that it would be an expensive job (and if it isn't, I'd really question the quality of the work). I'd say either do it yourself or start looking for new wheels.

take the tires off and send the rims to a body shop. Tires 23 will take off and remount for about $80. Paint rims should be no more than $250 for the set.

^ I think you'll be surprised. $250 for a brutal paint job maybe.

I was charging minimum 4 hours prep at $65/h

well, assuming the rims are in good condition all you would need to do is scuff them up so the paint would stick. If someone is charging 4 hours, they're ripping you off.

Did you take the wheels off or you let them do all the work?
