3rd gen question
3rd gen question
Question For You 3Rd Gen TL Owners. Do Most Of You Do Only Jpipe? As Opposed To Pcd? I'm Really Wondering If The Pcd Make You Fail Emissions. Can You Do A High Flow 3Rd Cat?
PCD might give you emissions problems but a member had said he can take care of that though.
PCD/HFPC is the best bang for buck.
J-Pipe would be next on the list.
There is a high flow 3rd cat offered by ATLP. (Also offers a test pipe)

ATLP and XLR8 V1 are the only J-pipes that offer the option of having a test pipe or high flow cat, RV6 and XLR8 V2 on the other hand offers the long tube J-pipes which eliminates the test pipe and high flow cat
For 1, if you remove/hollow out the catalytic converter you will get a CEL; you have to mess with O2 sensor placement to "trick" them into seeing that everything is Ok. For 2, you will have a crap smell coming out of your exhaust as nothing is neutralizing the combustion byproducts. For 3, if anything you will lose torque from the already torque-less engine; as removing the cat reduces the back pressure. For 4, and this is subjective, TL is not a car that has an engine built for ground shaking deep rumble. The first 2 cat has the o2 sensors and if you want the 3rd cat deleted you can put either a high flow cat or a test pipe
