Why do ex's friends think that you want to know whats going on in your ex's life?
I was out on Saturday after watching UFC 56....we went to a club and I see one of my ex's co-workers/friend. She comes up and give me a hug...then proceedes to tell me that she went to the ex's apartment...I tell her I don't care. Then she tells me that my ex's new guy (after dating for 6 months) is getting her a ring...once again....I tell her I DON'T CARE. She goes on to say that I sould be happy for her...and she's sooooo hot now, and she's sooo happy. Then I go on to say "what is with you and all of the hairdressers at that cackling hen house you all work at...you all like to get in each others business and gossip....do you realize that was about 50% of my problem with the ex"! She says that she used to think I was nice, but now she has lost respect for me....I tell her (in my best Robin williams explaining how golf was invented voice) "FUCK OFF...I stopped caring for her as soon as we broke up...I turned it off like a switch...have a nice night", then I walked away! I can only imagine the shit talking going on right now at her work.

That line right there explains why you left her (friends are a lot of the times a reflection of you) and why the guy she has got is in for a world of retardation.
To answer your question it's because some girls are lonely bitches so the only thing they can do is try to bring people down to their level. The worst ones are the ones who try to play it off as if they are doing you a favor "What, I am just informing you" When damn well everyone knows you are a bitch and stop shining me that fake smile because as soon as I leave you are going to go on about how much of a douche I am.
I had a friend like that that dogged her ex all the time, I met the guy, we are best friends now and my female friend I rarely talk to. Girls are bitches the end

my ex's friends are the same. lucky for me the only one i have to deal with on a day to day basis just talks shit about her, but i still dont give a shit and i would prefer to not hear her name mentioned again

Did you boys ever consider that his ex put her friends up to it? She wanted him to know that she was great, had a boyfriend, was getting engaged and "much better" without him. Girls do it all the time, its gay, and the guys don't usually care. What she is trying to get you to do is be like "damn i let that one get away"

She still talks to my mom and does her hair. She's pathetic...she has always hates her family...she lynched on to mine, now that we are done, she still tries to maintain contact. Shes got her new great guy...she should lynch on to that family! The funny thing is the guy talked shit because I guess my name still comes up....he said he was gonna kick my ass....she stuck up for his bitch ass...she said he would never say that...I think she knows what I'd do if I get confronted....the whole situation is pathetic....I wish it would all go away. My life is soooooo much better without her!

if you want to be really mature, tell her you cheated on her, and gave her herpes or something-guaranteed she will never ever talk to you again. Or, next time, tell her friend something really really embarassing about her, doesn't even have to be true. Its got to be bad enough so that her friend never wants to talk to you again, and will refuse to do your ex's dirty work. If the friend comes up to you and says, "ooo your ex is so hot" just smile and say she wasnt so hot with that nasty case of herpes.

seems like you waste a lot of your time letting her bug you, if you really don't care, just don't even ackowledge any comments made by her or your friends, like you didn't even hear them. You should have just said "yeah great story" to her friend and walked away.
