Went and bought a ring at lunch

Well, we've kinda been shopping around for a couple of weeks now but I'm not sure if she'll even say yes since I was the one that wanted to do the shopping. On my lunch break, I went to Jared and picked out a multistone platinum setting and a 2 ct. diamond.

Now I just need to figure out how and when to propose. She hasn't seen the ring I picked and I have no idea if she will like it but I only have 30 days to exchange it or take it back if she says no.

Any ideas? We never really get out much with the baby so travel is not an option.

When you get her bluetooth phone, take a picture of the ring with the a note saying "Will you marry me" and save it as her wallpaper, so when she turns on the phone, it's the first thing she sees, then when she looks at you, pull the ring out...

As far as moving in goes, she lived with me up until 7 months ago when I had a major drinking problem and I tried to commit suicide by stabbing myself with a long sword. Ever since then, I've been trying to redeem myself and not drinking anymore.

You sure shes ready for this? You posted that only a month ago and saying how lonely you are... hope this isnt just a way to get her to move back with you.

Either way congrats if this makes you happy.

How about taking a pic of the ring and emailing it to her and ask her to marry. If she says yes, buy it. If she says no, tell the sales guy "sorry"

Hey, Feb. 14th would be a good time. Take her to dinner and have the maitre D' put the ring in a dessert. Nice to hear you are wanting to take the step Ash. How is your health these days?

Swallow the ring, and when you take a dump tell her something is wrong with the toilet...When she looks in to see what you're talking about...pop the question

stick it up your ass and let her get it out next time she gives you head. And get used to this treatment, because you will be getting fucked in the ass for the rest of your marriage.

no, really. Congratulations. What are the color, cut, and clarity of the ring you bought, and what did you pay, if it isn't too personal of a question?

She would agree. Then, she would him back to work cleaning the house and cooking dinner.

Thanks for the idea's guys... I'll post a picture of the ring and the specs of it when I go out to my car later on this morning.

Something that I came up with last night was setting her up on a little scavenger hunt. After I give her the Valentines presents, I will present her with a small note with a love poem of sorts that leads her to a different location in or around the house. After 4 or 5 notes, the last one will tell her that what she seeks lies with her man. When she walks up to me, after searching one hint after the other, I will get down on one knee and propose.

I think this would be fun, original, and memorable. What do you all think?

I thought the same thing.

But congrats regardless. Your idea sounds cute but not ridiculously cheesy.

Here is a picture of the ring with a stock diamond shown. The diamond I picked out is much larger.

The diamond is 2.01 ct.
Round Brilliant
Very good cut
F color
SI1 clarity
Very good Polish and Symmetry

With tax, it was about $19,000

Well, I just realized that I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Yes, I am lonely on the nights I don't go to visit. I miss her so much because I love her. Anyways, we won't be moving in together until we buy a home together which will be a few months down the road.

that is a nice ring, and the price seems reasonable. Congratulations on having good taste and getting engaged.

Nothing personal Ash, but Valentine's Day is the worst day to get engaged. It's tooo obvious. Wait a week or so and be original. She'll like it even more.

"One of the items that both men and women wholeheartedly agreed was on the significance of Valentine's Day when it came to getting engaged. A resounding NO; about 85% of both males and females did not think that getting engaged on Valentine's Day was a great idea or were not sure about it. "
