Love at first sight... or is it?
Have any of you experienced love at first sight? Do you believe in love at first sight? Or is it only a crush that will eventually pass?
I'm curious if any of you met someone and knew after the first encounter that you want to spend the rest of your life with that person. What happened?

I don't believe in love at first sight.... but that's maybe because I haven't experienced it. I think you get attracted physically first with someone, then you start dating to get to know each other better, and love can develop.
I think this was covered in D&R some time back. L@FS doesn't exist. "I wanna fuck you at first sight" does exist. Besides, if L@FS was valid, blind people would never fall in love.
And that would be very, very sad.

With people, I have not experienced love at first sight. With me, it was always "Wow, she's attractive...I want to learn more about her" (before potentially committing myself to an incredibly fulfilling life with her, or a living hell with her if she is anywhere as demanding as a Fiat or Alfa....). That was even true for my crushes-- they didn't develop instantly either.
Whatever happens, just learn more right now about the person you're attracted to; the rest of your life will take care of itself.

Ya, I agree with you. I had this debate with a friend who believes in L@FS. She said that when she met her now husband, she knew he was someone she wanted to marry. And they did - 5 years later they're still as much in love as they were when they met.
I guess it worked for her, probably will not work for most of the people...
I think you can feel a strong bond towards someone pretty quickly (things in common, similar traits), at ease (let your guard down right away), or drawn to someone (wanting/needing to see them more, and a lot). IMO, true love is a much deeper, complicated, more meaningful, intense emotion that lies deeper than only knowing someone very superficially.

Seriously though, to say love at first sight does or doesn't exist is impossible. People are way too different emotionally. Some fall in love quickly, others never fall in love in their lifetime. If two people who connect quickly meet, and they are attracted to each other in all ways, who's to say they didn't experience LaFS? It really all depends on the two people, in my opinion.

i kinda believe in it. in highschool, i met this awesome girl, who is now my friend. when i first laid my eyes on her, i knew there was something really special about her. i got to know her better and i knew that she could've been the one. unfortunately, we became pretty good friends and nothing ever happened. i moved on, but if i ever get another opportunity, i would definitely take it this time.
OK fawkers if the truth be told there is no such thing as Love at first sight unless your talking about the love you have for those big ass tittys or how sweet his abs and ass looks in that wife beater and relaxed fit blues other than that What the fawk do you know about them to be in love!
^ there is, just most of us don't seem to see that during the initial sight. It's usually LUST at first sight. When I first met my lady, it was LUST. I still remember exactly what was on my mind when I first saw her.
"whoa, she's smoking. I gotta get some of that soon!"

Call me a caveman but I'm not a believer in love at first sight. I do believe in, "Wow ... what a cool chick!" or "Wow ... she is f*ckin' hot!" but no, "Wow ... I want to marry you". Sorry.

Her name is Kate Beckonsale
