It's My Turn...

Congrats on getting Engaged dude.
I took my now wife out for a day in the city, we went to parks, fairs, etc.... then when we were walking past the jewelers I stepped inside with her in tow.
I said to her "if I were to buy you a ring right now, would you allow me to take your hand in marriage"
(can cost allot of money doing it that way..... luckily it only cost me $4k!!)
She said "yes" and the rest is history.....
Best thing to do is get the Ring evaluated by an independant valuator before you purchase and send a photo copy of the valuation to your insurance company for their files...... insurance is definitely a must have!!
Once again congratualtions on finding the right person to spend the rest of your life with!

WOOOO MF HOOOO!
just never forget. You have to invest in Love. Dont expect it to be easy, & just sit back and expect marriage to fall in to place.... YOU have to make it work. Dont end up like the rest of the FOOLS who think marriage is supposed to be "HAPPILY EVER AFTER". (STUPID DISNEY)
then they wonder what went wrong... or even worse they blame each other as "not the right person for me CRAP"
I truly wish you the best, my AZINE BRUTHA!

Welp, I plan to ask her sometime today. She told me she doesn't want anything public or super fancy, so I'm simply going to present her some chocolates when the moment strikes...
I have it in the corner of the spare bedroom's closet using that bear "piggy bank" as cover (though she never goes in there anyway).
You can sort-of see the ring box between the chocolates. On the other side it's completely hidden. I bought a single red heart and taped it to the top of the box hoping it'll catch her eye. Now, the trick is...will she want to have one when I give it to her if she doesn't notice something "fishy"? We'll find out!

So, I proposed after lunch. Nothing special, I just figured it was the perfect time for a "dessert".
I asked her if she wanted some chocolate. She said NO. I was like, uh...okay. Then she said "Well, if you have any I'll have some." So I said OK and presented the "chocolates".
She opened the bag, pulled out a chocolate and handed it to me. She then looked back at the bag and was about to pick another chocolate...totally 100% clueless. So, I told her to pick the red one. She did, and was confused by the tape (because it was taped to the top of the ring box). So she looked a little harder and noticed the box. She totally flipped out! She dumped the bag of chocolates all over the couch and pulled the box out.
Then followed the tears and "are you serious?!". I got down on one knee (I don't know if it was the right knee ) and asked her to marry me. She said "are you serious?" I said of course I'm serious! She said yes, and I put the ring on her finger.
It's not a traditional engagement ring, but it's exactly what she wanted.

I suppose I should update this. Got married September 17th in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
I was going to include a picture of the view, but for some reason my computer has decided to read the professional photos CD extremely slowly...

The house has been moving slowly since wedding stuff went full gear a few months back and changes at work over the summer completely overloaded me.
Now that the wedding is over (as much as I enjoyed it I'm glad it's done ) and I've adjusted to my new work life I'm back on the wagon! I re-did the front sprinkler system last weekend and ordered sod which will be delivered this Saturday . I'm going to keep on top of updating my thread in H&G and hopefully maintain some momentum in finishing the yards.
