Talk about going crazy...Please just tell me to be quiet if you think this is not going to work. I live in Reading Pa. Would it be worth it to just ppack up and leave and Move to Hawaii!!! Could I pull this off, or is the cost of living down there way to expensive? I know this sounds crazy and has nothing to do with relationships! But I just need some advice from some single people, not close to me and see if it is a workable Idea. anyone from Hawaii want to to hook up a fellow board member?

 

dude DO NOT MOVE TO HAWAIIIIII...this place is boring and let me tell you can lose its novelty realllllly quick. I suppose if you're into all that nature crap you'd have a good time. The cost of living here isn't that much IMO, but I hear a lot of people complaining about it. It all depends on the area you want to live in, and also what island. I suggest moving to Oahu if you want to have a night life, no offense to anyone living on the outer islands, but its DEAD there. If you need any real estate info etc let me know. I know the island pretty well and just helped a friend check out some new homes.

i've known guys like you ... young, idealistic types thinking they could head off to hawaii/virgin islands/baja california/brazil or something and live in paradise and become beach bums filling out there days with cold drinks, surfing and snorkeling, beautiful girls ... STOP. unless you've got six figures stored away someplace nice and accruing interest at 12%, get this thought out of your head.

hawaii is pretty expensive place and i had a buddy who was born and raised there (22 years). he absolutely hates the place (would rather live in a nice big city) ... like geisha said, it gets boring really quick.

think about it ... if dropping everything and heading to hawaii was such a great idea, why don't more people pursue it? it's a pipe dream ... go to school, get your degree(s), get your foot in the career door, and worm your way up the corporate/social ladder like the rest of us.

why are you choosing hawaii?---I lived at the beach one summer and I worked hard while everyone else partied, don't get me wrong I had my fun! But just being in the warm weather and the ocean. I loved it!

Here is my whole deal! I hate the winter...The People up here are a**holes...can't take them...I know I sound like a guy looking for retirment...but I'm not. I have a good paying job...no trustfund baby!! In all honesty i was going to sell my car and sell my bike(motorcycle) An just go for it!
And if the cost of living down there is that expensive I might as well trash the whole Idea...I don't live paycheck to paycheck....but I sure don't have that kind of money!

 

Also i went to school for Photography....and I'm in a job now that has taken me totally in the other direction..plus I actually hate my job!!!! That's one of the main reasons! You guy are right it is a pipe dream !!! But I have to get out of here!

 

do not come to north cuba...I mean miami. pick either ft. lauderdale, west palm, or somewhere on the west coast. I want to move sometime soon cause I getting tired of it down here.

haha damn seems like no one wants you to move to their area jk. But seriously, if you want to make the move to HI, maybe you should do some research about the place u want to live etc. Get some figures, maybe even come out here for a test run and then make a decision. If you want to live out on the beach that will probably cost a considerable amount of $$$. The family beach home is just a medicore 2-story and it just about ran into 7 figure territory. Not too sure about rents, but my friend lives in a 1 bedroom condo in waikiki and pays 1800 a month. Its not that great a place either...for that much you can rent a decent place on the continent (in some parts). What kills most people's hawaii dreams is the cost of land...everything else is pretty decent. We have a low ass tax...4.1667%. If you're really worried about the financial situation you could do what a lot of people do and find someone to room with in a 2-3 bedroom place. Its not the ideal situation but a lot of people survive that way. And if you ever make it here and find all the parties...please let me know!!! I haven't been to a good one in a LONGGGG time:'(

 

I thought about moving out there also, but i don't have loot and I'm still in school. Seems like an ideal place to live, but I'm sure it would get boring after a while. I dream of sitting on a beach all day wasted, but i would eventually have to work.

If you get a new job your other problems will probably be easier to deal with. I personally can't stand my job at times and it makes me want to leave, in a few days/weeks it gets better and everything else is fine as well.

If you start with that and then work on everything else you should be fine.

.1st off not gay! I just get really annoyed at my job. It's my first corp, job and it's frustrating! I think the whole idea of moving to Hawaii was a venting thing! Yeah I don't think I'm going to be going Native and living on the beach. I am still considering relocating to where ever a good JOb might take me...However I don't want to suck it up in PA. I much rather go somewhere south...like FL where sit's warm..or does that get boering also!!! It just seems like winter up here. everyone and everything shuts down...and it just get boering!

Oh and it looks like Titand19 is going to Hawaii sooner than I!!! lol
