A friend of my gfs contracted herpes from her ex bf, who cheated on her with another girl and apperently thats how he got it. this dumb ass chick had breakup sex with the ex and now she has gential herpes. He denies that she got it from him and claims he got it from her. he doesnt wanna take any responsibility for it. is there any way to prove that it was in fact contracted from him? is there any legal action she can take?

i know theres a few doctors and lawyers on this board so any advice is very helpful at this moment.

I think the only recourse she would have would be if she could PROVE that he knew before he slept with her and knowingly infected her with it....

he could have just as easily not known about being infected... it's a tough thing to prove

 

basically she can't do shit, except go to the doctor and get some supression drugs.

 

she already went to the doctors and they checked the time difference from the last vist and this one. she didnt have it the last time and it falls into the time span where he cheated and they had sex. she didnt sleep with anyone else except for him that one time within that month

It's not worth her trying to get him to take responsibility for it. It's not going to go away. She just needs to be responsible and get suppression meds. Be aware of when she has a flare up and try not to spread it to anyone.

And for the record, there are a ton of people that have herpes and control it. Sometimes, they don't have out-breaks for years at a time.

even with a condom theres still the risk of contracting herpes...its one of the STI's that you can still contract with protection since it spreads around the genital area...so unless you cover up that whole area...like a pair of latex underwear...your still at high risk...
