Having Sex with a new partner, Do you Worry about STD's????????
Do you ask the girl if she has been tested before you plunge into the Legion of Doom or just take that risk. Condoms break sometimes so if that happens do you worry about STD's?

That just may ruin the mood.... so baby, uh.... are you clean? Mind as well throw a Beavis laugh in the middle of that and start chanting "I'm gonna score!"
If it was just a fling, trust the engineers at trojan are doing their jobs. If its a girl you are having a long term relationship with there are diplomatic ways of broaching the subject.

A background check is always nice. You know, social security number, age, recent STD test results from the local doctor's office, maybe a written representation of their latest gynocology exam, but seriously though, I guess that slips people's minds. If you're entering a relationship and/or something serious with another person, knowing they're clean is always assuring. I guess that's why I like virgins.
Personally, I don't prefer having one-night stands so I don't really have to worry about that. I guess that's the chance you take in order to have sex with miscellaneous partners, nah mean?

Always always always-example: my ex best friend doesn't like to use condoms and likes anal-she is now battling the possibility of having HIV or at least a raging case of something.

yea something like 2 or 3 out of 5 ppl at my school are supposily have a std of some sort. luckily me and my girl are faithful "atleast i hope" and she gets check ups regularly and never had a problem.
i went by this rule before my relationship...
if its gonna be a one night stand use a rubber and then paint her face
if it has potential use a rubber at first until you talk about it and what not. if a relationship happens getting checked up at the docs office is a great idea.
just my

Well, the excitement is about HIV, which is a legitimate concern, as the disease has gone mainstream. However, there is syph, the clap, and herpes all still out there, and while all of them can be treated, herpese cannot be cured, and the whole thing is tiresome.
If you are considering an intimate relationship with someone, it better have the capacity to disucuss sexual behaviors and history, but I would question the authenticity of information in the first blush of intimacy in any case. If you are considering a one-night stand, I'm with Tireguy, ya gotta rely on the engineers at Trojan to have done their job with the stretchies.

I'm not big on just meeting a chick and sleeping with her. I usually get to know them first, but even then, I always wear a condom. ALWAYS. I know it may "Kill the mood," but I'd rather risk that than my life. And just for the record, some women see it as a good thing if you ask. If you ask them, then more than likely you are clean, and you have asked your past partners. Just my

A good gal friend of mine recently tested positive for herpes. It's relatively cheap getting a check-up. The look on her boyfriend's face when she told him? Priceless.

Oh yeah. She sent out emails en masse the day after she tested +. She couldn't figure out who/when/how she got it (bless her lil' heart!) so she basically sent an email to every dude she's been with since college. Even a couple ladies. Around 25 total. Basically saying, "I had a physical yesterday and I tested positive for herpes. Perhaps you should get tested too."
Phew. Imagine getting that email ("Subject: VERY IMPORTANT"). That email would kinda dampen my day.

Always wear your rain coat untill you know who you are dealing with. And even after that ask ahead of time. If you are comfortable enough to have sex with them a lil question should be easy. After the first five or six times ( Third night LOL) just be real and say have you always had safe sex? and if the awnser is no the next question should be Have you ever been tested for STD's? if she studders keep the hat on!!!!! LOL No but serious sometimes we think with the wrong head and it could cost you your life. Look at it as going into a shootout with no protection yeah there is a chance you will or will not get shoot and bullet proof vest are not 100% but wont you feel better with one.

OK, I'll be the paranoid nerd. If you want to find out in a not so obvious way go donate blood together. They always test that stuff for HIV and Hepatitis at least. Syphillis is treatable, as are the crabs. Herpes = you're fucked. Hope you like Valtrex. Basically buyer beware. Like I said in another thread, if she's that easy for you then who else was she that easy for? If it is a real relationship then just talk about it - it's a legitimate concern now-a-days.

Crabs is the least of your worries, they're just lice so any lice treatment will get rid of them. Done and done.
Chlamydia and Syphilis are at least curable, but dangerous (DANGEROUS!) if you don't get them treated.
Herpes is incurable, so you're stuck with it if you get it. Like ABreece said, be careful, there's a 25% chance someone has it. No kissing or oral sex if you see a cold sore either.
Hepatitis A, B, and C can fuck you over pretty bad.
HPV (human papilloma virus, aka genital warts), is incurable, this is probably the second worst STD. Cauliflower dick anyone? (or just as bad, cauliflower anus )
And by far the worst, HIV. There's NO reason to take any risk at all. Everyone has a right to be paranoid about STD's because of this. Always use a condom, even if he or she has been tested because they might be cheating on you.
So what would you rather do? Lose a lay because you asked, or lose your life (or be permanently stuck with something horrible) because you didn't? I would lose the lay anyday.

Most of the women I've been with will ask if I have a condom. If not, they usually have one for me. It just the mature thing to do........... Not to mention piece of mind for you and her. Better to be safe than sorry later........ I'm retired Navy and have seen too many guys in the medical line a few days after my ship pulled out of port.
