Are gay men more passive/agressive than other men?
I work (Government Job) with a couple of gay males. It has been my recent experience that they exhibit more passive/aggressive behavior than my other male counterparts.
For example, several years ago I was written up for not reading meeting minutes on-line as requested by my immediate supervisor at the time. I did not feel it was necessary as I was in attendance at the meeting. Another co-worker also received a write-up. In the past reading the meeting minutes was not required by those who attended the meetings. When I received the e-mail stating that I was written up, I challenged the issue because I felt it was a waste of my time to read minutes for a meeting I was at.
I was required to have a meeting to discuss the meeting and another for the write-up challenge. In the end, they did not remove the write-up from my record.
However, after the incident, the gay supervisor that I challenged would not make eye contact with me, nor speak to me when I passed him in the hallway. Very odd behavior in my opinion. It was almost as if he took it personally that I challenged his authority on the issue. Occasionally, he still will not reply to my greetings and/or salutations.
Recently another issue had come up and my gay male supervisor sent me an email rather than bring the issue up face to face. Now I feel like he is also avoiding me. In the past when there have been other problems or issues like this my straight co-workers/bosses have moved-on and don't seem to act like a little boy who's milk I just stole. Very unprofessional behavior IMHO.
Not really sure what the issue is with these guys.
Anyone have any thoughts on the state of mind of a gay male in the work force?

I experienced the exact same strange behavior in Portland with straight men.
A lot of Oregonians are passive-aggressive. You see it everyday on the road I'm sure. Chalk it up to a regional character flaw.

you know, the fact that this is in dating & relationships led me to believe this thread was about something else.

Thanks for the information. Simply a coincidence that they are gay. My behavior certainly must play a role. Seems like some guys really like me, and others call me "Cocky" behind my back. Kinda the same here on AZ.
Hmm, I'll have to evaluate my behavior and make some...nah, who am I kidding, I'll never change.
