Sorry man.

And yes, that is what they are here for - they make you life a living hell whether you have one or not.

Sorry to hear it.

They will continue to do it until you just can't feel anything.....then they say you are emotionally detached.

Sorry man, I know what your going through and it sucks. Everyone will tell you to find a new girl and you'll forget her, but its not that easy. Just hang in there, hang out with friends and get yourself back on your feet. I would strongly suggest deleting her number(s) from your phone and don't talk to her, it will only make things harder in the long run.

Girls suck. Well the good ones do. all kidding aside it just takes time to get over her. I heard somewhere that it takes a guy an average of like 3-6 months to totally get over an ex.

I read somewhere that it takes most people (guys and girls) about the same time to get over an ex, as they were together. i.e. if you dated for 6 months, you'll be okay 6 months after you break up. Makes sense to me.

I've heard that same theory and while I agree with it for short term and while your young it seems to change(as if graded on a curve) as time goes on. I mean a couple that has been together for 20 years and splits, they have fullfilled each other's needs for a long time and for what ever reason decided to move on. Typically one of the two find themselves in a relationship shortly after it ends, perhaps to them maybe the relationship had been over for a long time already, I dunno. But I think after a certain point the time required to heal goes down dramatically.

Love, like youth is wasted on the young.

I disagree. It really depends on how much you loved them. If the relationship was sour before you broke up, it would be much easier to move on.

My dad told me a long time ago how to handle women. This does apply to men as well:

"Women are just like trolley cars. If you miss the first one, there will be another one along in 20 minutes."

This sucks espiecially if you think from a past relationship that you've learned from your mistakes and not mess up on the new relationship but in the end some new unexplainable shit happens... the feeling you get when you realize that the girl is not interested in you is undescribable.

Friends have been saying to 'forget about her' and that i'll find someone new soon but everyone knows it doesn't work like that. you begin to think about all the memories you've had with her and shit and every little thing just gets at you more and more.

I just hate it though when the girl tells you that we are still going to be friends and that our friendship won't be ruined, but tahts just some damn bullshit they say to not make you as sad.

removing all the pictures on my sites, renaming her number on her cell, deleting her text messages, removing every trace of my relationship with her is pretty fucking hard to do right now but i guess thats what i gotta do.

the feeling you get when you realize that the girl is not interested in you is undescribable.

Seduction is a biatch isnt it

maybe she meant "friends first"

If she wants to play games, go along with the friends thing... do not let her know how u truly feel about her because then the game is over, she gets bored becuase shes already figured u out...and you lose... make her feel the way you did, you know... " the feeling you get when you realize that guy is not interested in you ( undescribable ) "

Act like you don't care that she only wants to be friends. Let her know that at one point you were interested in her but when she pulled the friend card you lost interest because you aren't interested in a girl who isnt interested in you (reverse psychology lol ) even though this is far from true

Ask her if she has any single girlfriends and try to get to know them. Odds are they will have the same interests, same mannerisms, same personality..

Would you want a girlfriend who has lots of "guy friends" who give her "lots of attention"? I hope not.

Here in the counseling world, we have a saying for those who experience the end of a relationship. "Congratulations, and condolensces."

Condolensces because it's the end of a relationship, and now you have to (must) experience the pain and anxiety to fully recover.

Congratulations because you're young and have all the world ahead of you. If it ended, something there wasn't right, no matter how good it looked to you.

Just speculation and pop culture. Too many variables exist to put together a simple formula. How well grounded an individual is, how much support they have, how long they were together, how much the person can deal with (some people say they are over it in a few months- they may be avoiding the real pain that can scar them). You'll know when you're better. You won't have to ask.

TSX is lying, you will never find love again and no one will ever love you again, including your mom! That's right even your mom hates you right now and probably will forever. Only thing you can do right now is stick your penis in her keyhole and stalk her.

I've been through this, and I know it hurts like hell.

I feel for you man, but look at your age (18), and your life.

I used to have a gal who I dated for ten years, got engaged to her, only to have her dump me for another guy (who I met, and all I could tell was that he had cubic yards of money, he was nothing special). Took me five years to get over it.

Then, to throw gasoline on the fire, she wanted to rehookup. That lasted for a year, and another five years of pain.

Get over it! You're only 18. I'm 54. I could really care less if I met another woman in my life. I've been there, done that.

You will find, as life goes on, that there are more serious problems to attend to. In my case, and I hate to keep harping on it, but it is most true, tomorrow will be my seventh operation for cancer in 2005.

Think about that. You're 18, you're young, and bullettproof. I don't want this to sound macabre, but every day you live and age, life only gets worse, if for no reason that ageing undeniably causes medical problems.

A year ago, I was jet setting all over the US, solving problems for my company, and having a good time doing it. Now, I wake up on Monday, and review which doctor or specialist I have to see, and when the next surgery is.

I know, this hurts. But you need to realize you have the best part of your life before you. And it is up to you what you do with it.

Look at this side of life that your glass is half full, instead of half empty.

Your life, in the end, amounts to no more or no less that exactly what you do with it.

If you don't want this to happen again just get your own life and not worry about hers. Just shrug your shoulders a lot. It has nothing to do with being mean, you could tell her you love her everyday but as long as she lives in fear that you have options to leave her she will act right. I am doing the unspeakable right now, hooking up with an ex, well she lost interest then one day I decided I would shrug it off and ever since they she has been on my D again. As long as I stay making new female friends and not always available nor care what she does she will always be thinking "damn he may leave." It also helps if you have a facebook account and there are chicks you meet at parties friending you and talking about how much they love you

very true. Was married for 22 years and the getting over it part didn't take very long, but I believe it is because we had been "over" each other for a long time...

I agree with the Love quote too, my relationship since then has been unbelieveable, best feel I've had in 48 years.

When your 18 it does hurt a lot and it does take time to get past the pain. Believe me when I tell you that life really does get better. Just try to relax, go with the flow and enjoy whatever comes along.

i never even thought about having sex with her because shes only 16 and im 18, not only do i think its morally wrong but also legally i guess. this was the type of relationship that i put my heart and soul into to actually be with her and to enjoy each other's company, not all out bonage.

It might just be me but I don't really think this sadness comes from losing her... it's more like losing the feel of having someone to hold on to and someone to make you feel wanted and special...
