LOL, thanks all for the insuring comments. We already have a great sex life so it won't be like I'm expecting anything more because of the ring. Maybe a little nicer Xmas present this year could be expected though.
It came out just a little under $4,700 w/insured over night shipping.
The center princess cut diamond is 1.04 carats (G in color and VS1 clarity) and the side baguettes are a total of .125 carats (G/H in color and SI1/SI2 clarity). It's an 18 carat white gold setting with platinum prongs.
Seriously though, Diamond.com is the bomb. If you know exactly what you're looking for, i.e. the 4 Cs and know how to read a GIA certificate, and of course have the patience to search through hundreds of stones and lots of settings, it's the only way to go. I was quoted at $5,000 + for just the stone at jewelery stores and the color, clarity, cut or symmetry wasn't nearly as good as the one I ended up getting. For instance, the last place I went to quoted me $5300 for a 1.00 carat, H in color and VS1 with a less squared cut. Again, just for the stone. So with the extra amount I was going to pay I ended up getting a much nicer setting, too.

For her band we have the same exact design but instead of the center stone, we have another baguette. It looks really nice together.

Thanks again everyone. It's very reassuring hearing all the positive feedback. The only thing she told me at one point months and months ago was that she liked princess cut stones, but that's all I had to go by.
I'm not even going to touch that "balloon knot" comment.

You don't have to touch the comment, just the balloon knot itself.

There's not a blessed thing I would change about my wife...other than to make her more like your (eventual) wife in that respect.
Oh, and the cigs ought to stop completely anyway.
