Divorced

I got a divorce. I don't know what else to say. I am somewhat depressed. I think I will be on this board lots more now. I am not looking for a new girl or anything and money is a little tight so that doesn't help.

Why a divorce? Irreconcilable differences? Adultery? Any kids caught up in this?

I think I checked the "marriage is irretrievably broken" box. There is no children involved, thank god. I went through my parents divorce and it was horrible.

I feel you man, in a way i feel like me and my girl just got a divorce, except we broke up after 6 years.

Was there anything specific that caused the break up? What is scary is that sometimes people just grow apart and change over time. How does anybody know that you will still love the same person 10 years from now?

Welcome to the club. It sucks ass for a while, but you begin to understand that, depending upon your particular situation, it's likely a blessing.

I was with my ex-wife for 5 years before our wedding, and then 5-6 years of marriage. 10-11 out of 30-or-so years, at the time, was a healthy chunk of my life. I was with her all of my adult life to that point.

I think mine was the same reason...irretrievably broken. Some shit just ain't fixable.

PM me if you ever wanna talk about anything.

No, not like that at all but if I did I would be in jail. I wouldn't touch her, though. I don't believe in hitting women.

Thanx.

Out of our five year relationship I was gone for over two years of it. We kinda grew apart.

Tyndall? 325th FS if I'm not mistaken. I think some of our birds (F/A-22's) are training there!

^^^ It is the 325 Fighter Wing (FW) with the 1st, 2nd, 43rd, and 95th FS Fighter Squadrons. The 43rd has about 4 or 5 of those F-22 Craptors. There are F-22's in Texas???

Time will tell. Anyway...take good care of the jets and yourself. If you need to talk you'll always find a stable of good people here ready. And thanks for serving our country.

You got married too young...just like I did. Consider it a starter marriage, man. The real one will happen down the road a piece. PM me if you need anything.

At least you realized early that it was broke and got out. I was stupid for marrying young, stupid for trying to keep it going, and stupid for waiting way too long to dump out of it.

best wishes

well, if it was a "starter" marriage like someone suggested but not marrying again is cOo too...I can totally see why someone wouldnt want to take the risk again.

How long were you married and how long did it take for you to recover?

I've was married for 2 1/2 years, but we were living together from the first time I kissed her. So all together it was 4 years.

Recovery is not an easy process... I moved away 2,000 miles and up until just recently (about 2 months) we were still talking every day and even saying "I love you" We decided that wouldn't be a good idea anymore so I just have to focus on myself. She is doing the same thing.

So, in fact, I am still recovering.

Damn. I was married five, almost six, years. We were together for five years before our wedding. You got me beat...fourteen years is no joke.

Why? Wouldn't it be her fault, not his? Don't blame dudes for a girls inability to stay loyal.
