What I've been trying to point out is that, I'm not saying that I know EXACTLY how a man thinks or feels, but I can relate to what some of you guys have gone through! Like I said before, when you speak of "nice guys" finishing last, I totally feel guys on that level because I have been pegged as a "nice girl" finishing last! IT's not a good feeling to be dropped by guys and have them go for the gold-diggers, sluts, whores, drama queens, etc...But to tell you the truth, I've actually learned that any man who can't see what a REAL woman is especially when it's staring them in the face, is not the kind of guy I want in the first place! That's how I seperate the men from the boys! A true man knows a real woman when he sees one! Then again, sometimes we don't! But we're all human and make mistakes and we learn from them!

And when you talk about the opposite sex on things, I feel that you put every woman in that mold, but you're not aware that I'm not like most women! I've never cheated on a guy, I've never taken advantage of them, or treated them like their a piece of crap! I just want to point out that not all women are the same! The kind of women you speak of do exist, but I just wanted to let you know that there are others out there (me) who don't fit that mold at all! And when you speak of women that way and you're not acknowledging the real ones, then I take offense to that!

That's all, I'm not trying to say anything negative about you or your beliefs! I'm just trying to gain some understanding! Well, unfortunately it seems as if you continually misunderstand the fact that I am not bashing women AT ALL. I may bash an individual woman, on an individual basis, but in NO WAY am I bitter towards women in general.

Do I feel that there is a social imbalance that favors women and devalues men in Western societies? Yes. Very much so. And I can provide countless examples of that. That does not mean that I hate women. I take offense to that, and is one reason why I get short. But it's a consequence of standing up for what I believe in. I'm learning to accept that fact with a sense of humility.

My objections to these imbalances come from a lot of different places, but generally, it has been because of the lack of MEN standing up for themselves. Hence, why so many men seem so incapable of taking care of themselves and actually BEING men.

I don't really want to get much into it this second. But I sincerely do not believe you have bad intentions. I'll apologize for any of my abrasive comments in the past. I don't dislike you, I just feel that you haven't given my opinions and arguments a chance (by the way, I'm not alone, trust me).

Well to be honest, it goes BOTH ways! Women are also devalued in more ways than guys! Our society has allowed men to treat women as objects, having a man walk out on a woman during their pregnancy, domestic violence, women are still paid less than men regardless of experience and credentials....it's a dog eat dog world out there and not a lot of women are getting the proper credit that they deserve. And I do understand that everyone falls a victim to these societal imbalances! I just think that we need to view things on both ends instead of just favoring one or the other!

The same way you don't like seeing a lot of men get trampled on by women is the same way I feel when women get trampled by men! It's always going to be an opposite and adverse effect no matter how you look at it from a male or female perspective! Instead of having it as a male or female issue, I just consider it an ISSUE! That's only because I feel that for every weak man out there is another weak woman! I feel bad for women who have no voice and are willing to compromise their self-worth for self-loathing men! I admit, I've experienced that in the past and to be honest, it took me a while, but I finally learned from my mistakes! Like I always say, " Life will keep handing you the same LESSONS, until you LEARN from them." And those words resonated with me for a good portion of my life and I barely let it SINK IN 'til now! Now I know better and know my worth and am more willing to wait for a guy to treat me the way I deserve to be treated rather than getting myself involved into something that is not worth my time!

And you're right, there are a lot of weak men out there who are just as vulnerable as women! I just think that men AND women should be able to learn and grow from their experiences and if they don't, I suggest getting professional help....SERIOUSLY! That's all you can do if you keep dealing with the same issues! hehe

The major difference is... Women's issues have already been addressed by academia and the mainstream media. They have been, literally, for decades.

Men's issues have not been addressed and are largely ignored or deemed contemptible.

Well, I disagree. There are issues that affect each gender in seperate ways.

Just one example is rape. Men largely do not have to worry about being raped. Women do. Rape is an issue that is DIFFERENT for men then it is for women. The potential for being raped is DIFFERENT for men then it is for women.

You can't easily "learn from experience" issues that are all-encompassing, at least not without a lot of heartache. The very fact that social interaction is in part largely influenced by social contrivances is testament to that.

And yes professional help does make a difference, but it doesn't strike to the core of men's issues. It doesn't help reduce or destroy issues that are specific to men. I care about these things because I am a young man. If I was a woman I'd probably be more hip to women's issues. Regardless, it has nothing to do with a specific problem I may be having.
