It is becoming harder and harder to find a girl with NO TATTOOS.

Tats are just an expression...not everything that can be expressed should be, but in the end it's their choice. I've seen plenty of stupid tattoos just like I've seen a bunch of paintings I don't like...does that mean the artists shouldn't have ever painted them? And how is it really any different from customizing your car? Is that not another expensive form of self-expression, albeit somewhat less permanent?
Personally, tats aren't my cup of tea...but such a broad sweeping generalization based on some psych-101 jargon is beyond absurd.

I would
BTW I got a chance to drive a very similar car to yours at the OC auto show a couple of months ago. Very sweet ride...and unlike the new Camaros, you can actually see where you're going and what's around you

If everybody likes having tattoos, so why the tattoo removal business is booming EH?
It is possible that some people have made mistakes in the past?

not really.
OP ran away for awhile...probably reading books and asking his teachers for counter arguments.
They all laughed at him, called him a retard, and said they sure feel sorry for any future patient he might treat...so he came back and posted some nonsense before running away again.

So guys.. It turns out I was slightly wrong about something. I have to retract a bit of the ferocity of my former comments.
I met this amazingly hot chick in Philippines... but she has this stupid heart tattoo on her chest above her boobs. I started mentioning tattoos, but tried not to offend her -- I said I hate to see them on a pretty girl, but on guys they're okay. Well she went off on a rant how badly she hates them and how sick it is for a girl to get one!!! She was REALLY drunk one night and since her best friend is a tattoo artist, this tattoo was done to her while she was unconscious!! WTF right? She wants to get it removed at the earliest possible date.
Tattoo = does not equal proof you're a low life degenerate. Some are done against a person's will!

No one here is really saying tattoos are a must have. The vast majority of us are simply not judging people that have them.
I repeat what I said before.....you're an idiot.

Meh... my wife is tatted. I'm tatted, we both have degrees. She teaches, can you imagine the shock she receives from students when her non-visible tats are seen? Oh yeah because they aren't. Her tats are a non-issue.
I received a majority of my work when I was in the military which a lot of enlisted and some officers have.
Stow all of the stupid BS stereotypes about tattoos except for probably one, I could beat the shit out of your over-educated virgin sounding punkass. Same goes for the weirdo with the asian fetish.
Oh yeah, I'll out debate you both to boot.
I have two cousins (one by blood, the other she married, yay for this family) and both have their Post-Grad Doctorates in Psych. You kind of remind me of them, one is unemployed and both are still 100k + in debt with student loans even though they're pushing 40
Good luck with all of that.

I didn't read through all the pages, but hear is some input from a psychology perspective, so you understand. You should really think and ask if there is a correlation between tattoos and immaturity. As you said, you believe that tattoos are a form of immature expression, but you should not come to that conclusion so quickly. Consider bidirectionality and the third variable problem. A causal conclusion cannot be made. Also, there is no evidence that people with tattoos are more unstable as you said you've noticed. That may just be salience and a potential primacy effect at play. Moreover, your perception that people with tattoos are more immature and unstable can potentially lead you to create a self fulfilling prophecy that influences them to behave in a way that corroborates your hunch. Just some food for thought. You should be more open minded about people with tattoos.

^ sorry, a recency effect, not a primacy effect. Your recent observations of people with tattoos may be leading to a recency effect.

Whoa I just saw this thread and most of you have already said what I was going to say.
But I'll share this, my wife is tatted. Lower back and lower abdomen.
In the past she had a total of 9 piercings on her ears. Also nose, tongue, and belly were pierced. All had to be removed because of her career path.
What image do you portray of that right off the bat from psych class?
I'm sure it isn't someone who is a loving mother and a registered nurse.
