The day before my b-day my gf and I split because we were drifting apart anyways. We were going together for about 2-3 yrs and now I'm kind of nervous now getting back into the dating scene.

There is one new prospect. She is been a nice friend to me, however we really only talked to each other one day because we worked a temp job together last summer for 1 day. The rest of the time we've talked on the phone and emails. I don't know if she likes me or not. Since I broke up with my gf, she the only girl not related to me I've talked to. She sent me a b-day email greeting card, but I think I'm going too fast myself because on Friday, I called her just to see how her finals went, she's 22, then Sat. night I called her and she was either surprised or wondering why I was calling her just to tell her I had a bad day. Then last night on my b-day I called her again and also emailed her to thank her for sending me a b-day card. I think I screwed up now for trying to talk to her 3 days in a row.

What do you think I should do next? I'm out of practice in dating since I haven't done it in 2.5 yrs.

 

I think its sounds ok, but take it slow. Don't rush into it where you have to talk every day so much that you get ahead of yourself. If she's wondering why you are calling you both might have different views on your friendship. It'd be good to know where you stand before pursuing her so you don't get hurt if she doesn't reciprocate your feelings.

 

Ask her out... If you are nervous, make it a group thing. I like one on one dates but groups are a good way to see if a girl likes you.

 

3 times in 3 days is a bit excessive man. Give her a week and see if she calls/emails you back and then ask her out then. Just my 2 cents.

 

thanks guys for the advice. the only reason i called her back on the 3rd time was to thank her for the card she sent me. i guess i should've waited until today or tuesday to thank her.

i don't know i wasn't thinking. i was just on a high since it was my b-day, i thought that i could try to snatch up this lady before she's taken by another guy.

This might sounds crazy but in this situation I would agree that 5-6 days would be cool. If you two were dating then calling everyday would be acceptable but since you are friends and have not established a relationship beyone that yet calling 3 days in a row is a bit much. However, ask her out and see what she says! The worst she could say is no and we have all been told no before and it never hurts as bad as we think it will. But my guess is that she would say yes to you!

i have a feeling she just used me to find a temp job. we knew each other have been friends for about a yr, but she said she needed a temp job, so i referred to her to 2 temp agencies. one of them has got a her a 3 day job. but, i can't get a hold of her to talk to her. the only response i got out of her is an email and right now i just left her a voicemail on her cell phone. it's been 3 days since i last called her. what's going on? the more i try to understand women, the less i get them.
