Quick question bout cooking steak!

When do you season it? Do you do it before you put it on the grill, as its grilling, or after your done cooking, and its on a plate and then you add the stuff. In this case itll be salt/pepper. Oh and is this george foreman grill thingy good? I might go buy one if its not bs. kthx

I've only marinated a steak before I grilled it...

But I add a little bit of salt and pepper while I'm grilling it if I didn't marinate it...actually, more like galic salt

Ralphs?

Most grocery stores should carry it. It's ground dried garlic mixed with salt.

I like it on my burgers as well

Try using Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning.

Also try Jamaica Me Crazy Seasoned Salt...

Good shit...stupid ass names though.

Also try cooking your pork chops in Basalmic Vinegar with that Creole seasoning...mmm...mice tasty glaze...

Old wives tale... I just watched an episode of Good Eats, and Alton Brown says it's ok to season before. He prefers to use kosher salt tho'.

It's a great product, especially for a dorm room or break room at work. Good for the aforementioned burgers and chicken, as well as salmon, sandwiches, breakfast sausages, and just about anything else you can stick in there.

I saw the same show last night
He put kosher salt (to avoid additives in table salt) and ground pepper. A little canola oil, both sides for everything.
Iron skillet coated in oil put in oven @ 500deg. Then take it out, put the steak in the skillet for 30 secs each side to brown it.
Then stick the skillet again in the oven for 2 minutes each side. Take it out and let it sit 3 minutes. That was for medium rare.

As for me, I use Goya's Adobo with Cumin seasoning, with extra pepper, and olive oil. I cook at lower temps so the oil burning up isn't a problem.

Thanks, I missed that part. My brother was watching poker on another channel, so I didn't see if he seared the meat.

I like Good Eats. It's one of those shows where you learn alot about food, without even realizing it

I use the marinade recipe from Broil King . It is really good, it also helps make a not-so-good cut of meat enjoyable. But in reality it is all about the cut...

I plan on trying a coffee ground rub sometime. It sounds interesting...
