One meal for the whole weekend...

I made a pretty big lasagna on Friday night and ate it for about 5 meals over the weekend.

It was the first time I tried making one and it came out pretty good. Used turkey instead of beef - and the wife didn't realize it until I told her after the 3rd time we ate it.

Next time, I just need to make more, thicker sauce, use a bit more cheese and make the bechamel sauce right before putting it in the over. Also, I plan to use whole wheat pasta next time.

I love lasagna but it's time consuming to make it. I like it with ricotta cheese and spinach. Hmm I think I will make some this week. Can you take a picture of it the next time you make it? I want to see how yours look like with the bechamel sauce.

Lasagna FTW!

But I can't eat the same thing more than twice over the period of 2 or 3 days.

Turkey sounds interesting, I'll have to try that. I usually use pork or a mix of pork and beef.

^^^

The wife always uses turkey. She cooks it with some beef stock and it's tough to tell the difference.

I agree that I don't know that I can eat the same meal for a couple straight days. Although the last time we made ribs and made 6 lbs of them, it took a couple days to polish them off.

This did take a while to prepare and then more time to cook - probably about 1.5 hours total Next time I'd be able to plan it better and get some things ready ahead of time.

The bechamel sause was just put on top. It ends up looking kind of like a cheese pizza.

Somethings I can't eat for more than 1 or 2 meals, but this was an exception. I could definitely tell the difference between the turkey and ground beef, but it wasn't completely obvious since it was saute-d with onions and garlic and simmered in the sauce for a while.

I forgot to mention that I also added some zuchini and yellow squash inside. Might try spinach next time.

Turkey sounds good, I will have to try that. The best lasagna I made was with a mixture of venison and beef.

We have also added some Spicy Turkey sausage for some added kick and flavor.

5 meals?!

I could never do that. After I eat it about twice, I think I'd be good for a year :P
