The nice thing about the Nespresso frothers is they also heat the milk.
Totally agree it's a more pro-level tool than the little whipper. In fact, I have a hard time whipping the milk if it's not very cold. I whipped it cold once and then microwaved it to warm it up and the foam became nuclear... HUGE foam and it would NOT dissipate! Wifey finished her coffee and the foam was just sitting there looking at us like "what? you wanna fight about it?"...
Made 2 pods using the My-Cap foil and the Lavazzo coffee. Worked perfectly! Great taste! Not sure if I like the Lavazzo better than the Melozio, it's very close.
Love the Aeroccino! Heats/froths in literally seconds. Somehow it was missing one of the whisks. I called Nespresso and they are sending me both whisks, 2nd day air, no questions!!

So were at Macy's and we had already discussed whether or not we should get a Nespresso or Keurig. Thing is she already drinks Keurig coffees at work and for her they're sufficient. Plus she likes that they're sold everywhere and cheaper than Nespresso pods. In Macy's they have a Nespresso stand and the salesman made us a cup. Dang it was good and it was similar to the above Amazon deal but in red and the current model for $175. She preferred flexibility so now I have to shop a Keurig. I think she wants on that also makes carafe size in case we have a get together since Nespresso couldn't do that. I believe all new models do that? Suggestions?

I like the flavored coffees too though, specifically the pumpkin spice from Trader Joe's
They're still not as good as you can get from traditional brewing, but it's good. My wife put in the search for a combination cup/drip coffee maker, which would be ideal... and I have found them, just not for the k-cup.
I know you were looking for suggestions on machines... sorry for the diversion.
Yeah, it (the Nespresso) makes a damn good cup of coffee and great espresso!!
AFAIK, there aren't any Nespresso models that will make a carafe size (well, they will but you'll have to use multiple pods).
I've now used the cap and filter about 20 times. The cap/filter combination works great and it's fast and easy to use. I've reused the same filter so far with no issues. The foils still work great, but they take a little longer.
By using the cap/filter, a pod of Lavazzo coffee only costs me ~ $0.32.

Very late to this thread...but, I've owned a Nespresso Pixie for the last several years and it's been pretty reliable and enjoyable (if you like espressos). It has just recently started to develop a leak where the drip bowl or whatever is allowing the spout's drippings seep out. I'll likely replace it soon as it would not be great to stain the quartz countertops in the new place.
Anyways, it's a good machine. I do enjoy the nice variety of flavors I can pick from for intensity.
So yeah now she wants a Nespresso because she got talked out of it. Women huh. I'm happy though since the quality is there. This the unit we tested. Amazon had it for $120 around Cyber Monday while usually $170.
Got the Nespresso VertuoLine Evoluo Coffee & Espresso Maker with Aeroccino Plus Milk Frother for $107 through Target.com plus a $15 GC. I guess I need to start ordering cups. Recommendations?

I really liked the Nespresso Essenza Mini for it's size and the 3rd party pods available. Damn price is staying too high though (per the 3xcamel site).
Anyone have one or any other pod espresso machine?

Pros/cons?
Favorite pods for espresso?
The Inissia is Nespresso's new econo machine. It drops under $100 regularly...and I think it's on sale currently.
I'm pretty happy with Nespresso in general and recently traded up for an Expert machine. It's not bad and pretty handsome on the countertop. For pods, I like trying their limited releases but usually, my go-to is the Arpeggio and Kazaar.
Anyways, the ONLY caveat of having these in the office (at least for me) is that the noise it makes. I no longer have my own office and are now with the minions with the more open office concept here. So, everytime I use my Pixie, it sounds like I'm doing some deepsea drill.
If you want 3rd party support, avoid the vertuo line of pods because they're patented where only Nestle via Nespresso can sell them. That's all I can chime in with as I have a Vertuoline and typically only buy regular coffee.

Thats good to know, thanks Doom. I guess the patent ran out on the original line pods.
