Brinkmann is a middle of the road grill.

The stainless burners are a great feature for longevity. I got a grill that the entire box is stainless so there is never a rust worry.

For that price, it seems great. If it lasts you 7-10 years of happy times you will have made a great investment.

meh, you can do better.

Vermont Castings, Weber and Modern Home Products are way nicer.

Which ever grill you get, make sure that it has staright round grates. I got a grill from Sears last year. After using it for a year, I HATE the grill grate.

You want grill grates like this...

not like what in your broiler pan of your stove

I'd look into a Weber. I don't mind paying more because the Weber my parents had lasted for 20 years without any problems. Only reason we got another one was because we needed more grill space

Got a Costco near you?

They have a good one generally for around $500 with three burners, infrared x2 and a side burner. Mines lasted quite well and performs nicely, although the AZ sun kills the cover they give you.

Edit, looks like they replaced it with one lacking the infrared:

I agree you can get better quality, but those brands with 5 burners will run more than 299.

This one is a good grill if you aren't looking for a permanent solution, just a bridge for 7-10 years.

I had a bridge grill that was OK until I got my built in for my outdoor kitchen.

Guess it depends on the real purpose-longevity or cost. This one is a value proposition.

Yeah I don't need this to last beyond 7-10 years.

Thanks for the input, I actually bought it last night and its assembled. I'm going to try to grille on it tonight. Lets see how that goes!

Wow this grille is great! Used it all weekend and plan to use it again today. Heats up quickly and cooks the meat well. I'm so glad I got it.

I've had one similar to that for over 3 years now.

I got it for under $200 (black Friday sale), grill on it 2-3 times a week and I haven't come up with one complaint yet.

I like Vermont Casting's grills as well, but I personally think Webers are over-rated.

Happy grilling!

I think you can get better, but I have a basic Charbroil I got 2 years ago for $300. I like it. It does the job. I think it would be nice if it got a little hotter, but for the most part I think once you learn hot to handle the heat output of your grill you will be fine with it.

Grill preferences are varying for sure. I bought a Vermont Castings and HATED it - took it back.

After 3 years of searching and trying - finally landed on a Weber. I bought a higher end unit and custom ordered the color I wanted. I could not be happier. Simple grill - no lights, rotis, Infra-Red, etc. Just cast iron grates and a hot surface - which burns evenly.

If cash is no concern - buy an Alfresco. BEST Grill in the world - hands down.

I just scored this grill from home depot for $160 with tax.

I found it on slickdeals and was going to HD for something else and remembered it.
It was the floor model and looks like new. This shit was $600 brand new. For $160 it's perfect.

I've had a Brinkmann for 2.5 years now. It's spent it's Winters outside, once without a cover.

I have 4 burners, one side burner. It was $350 on a drunken college afternoon and has been great. I'm surprised it's even lasted this long for what it's gone through.

I clean it 1-2x a year.

I had to look online for a user manual for this thing. There are a few settings that i have no clue about. They said that there isn't a user manual besides the assembly one. Who the hell makes a grill like this and doesn't make one?

Are you happy with that grill so far? I want a grill in the <400 arena to use for the next couple months until I can get my patio finished and do a built in grill. My Char-Broil is done and falling apart and needs to be replaced for the weekend.

Grill is still going strong and logged many hours of cooking. My favorite method of cooking!

I've had a 4 burner (+ side burner) Brinkmann grill for 4 years now. It's been through some tough times and still works great. I think we paid about $400 for it and I definitely got my money worth...will be looking for a replacement pretty soon though.

After searching and searching for a good grill I finally came to the Weber Q 320. It's on the smaller side of things, which is what we needed, but it also is nicer then most I've touched. Fantastic build quality, porcelain coated cast iron grates, counter weighted sealed box for the propane tank, and has a light built into the handle! $340 at Walmart when I got it.
