Crawfish Boil

Hey guys, fiancee went to Tulane, lived there for 10 years, and always talks about these boils so I figured I would do a crawfish boil for her bday, only thing is I have never done one

I have a 30 Qt turkey fryer with strainer basket and my buddy is going to bring a 60 QT if we need it. We aren't planning for a ton of people, 12-16 but some are from NOLA so I was thinking 40 lbs of live crawfish from lacrawfish (link), corn, and potatoes, does this sound about right? Anyone have any experience with lacrawfish or any recommendations? Any recipes other than the seasoning in the link?

Any tips so I don't fug things up would be appreciated!

your first time, there will be fudging up.

I threw a couple of boils; remember to bring the water to a boil before you dump in the craw daddies!
40lbs sounds about right, although you can never have too many.

if you're the cook, you wont be having as much fun as the others.
they cook pretty quickly, and you'll be spending your time boiling and dumping
have plenty of beer!

yeah, you can dump anything in it. but not needed.

might want to have some other sides as well. I never provided side dishes during my boils, but the bigger ones that ive been too have all sorts of cool stuff! pies, cobblers, jambalaya, bourbon baked beans, etc

Yea, I'm looking at about $230 for 40 lbs shipped overnight, not too bad. It is waaaay cheaper in NOLA but the reviews say less then 5% are dead so I can't really complain and I get seasoning.
