I got the 3 red rings of light again after they shipped back my xbox about 3 weeks ago. Has anyone else have to send their xbox 360 in multiple times. This is really aggravating I hope they just give me an elite.

 

I'm surprised to hear about all these 360's breaking. I bring mine everywhere, and I had it in a thin carrying case and it fell out of the car when I opened the door and it was fine.

 

Well it seems my GPU/CPU/Ram is all busted up I should be getting a new one. Heres a link that shows how to diagnose the problem.

I hate to say it but you should have bought a PS3. You will contine to have problems.

 

My original 360 had the three red lights in January 2007. They sent a new (according to the MFR date) one that worked well until it had the "red death" in November. Microsoft sent another new one that has started to act a little weirdly recently.

I was hoping they'd send an Elite too but it didn't happen =[.

I have had two replaced. 1 was for the red light and my elite door gears broke.

 

I'm tempted especially with MGS4 coming out.

 

WHoa apparently best buy will give full refund of 200 dollars and a 50 dollar gift card for the HD-Drive for 360. I'm very tempted to get a PS3 while my 360 gets fixed for free.

ofcourse, its a 3 yr warranty. i bought mine in the begining of 06 and had it sent in twice. i sent mine out last week, and im suppose to be getting a new one back sometime this week.

 

Out of curiosity, how do you normally set up your xbox?
I mean, is it on carpet, inside a AV cabinet, etc, etc.

Supposedly, since all my friend's with 360's have had theirs sent back for 3 rings. Only person I know whose Box hasn't done that is my little brother's.

 

When I first got my Xbox, and turned it on, it kept giving me the three rings.
I reseated the power cable, and didn't use the UPS, and it was happy after that.

The three rings is an incredibly vague error indicator.

 

my co-workers have issues with thier ps3 one stoped reading blu-ray(isnt that the point of getting one?) another stopped all together and ones hard drive messed up and couldnt save anything.

 

So far I have had to return 2 XBOX pros since Thanksgiving of 06. Recently even my elite I bought only 3 months ago stopped reading game discs. They sent a coffin, but then it started working again. I kind of don't want to send it in unless I absolutely have to because I know I will get a POS refurb.

It is aggravating. I have NEVER had so many issues with any console in my near 25 years of gaming

 

What ever happened to blowing into the console, blowing across the cartridge, pushing down on the cartridge in the console 6 times, stacking magazines under the console so that it's at a 20 degree angle, wiggling the power and video cables, power, reset, power, reset, power, reset?

The PS3 failure rate is much lower than the XBOX. For peace of mind alone I would go with the PS3.

 

Yes I deciphered it. My error code is 0102 so it seems my motherboard if messed up probably due to a cold solder. Microsoft will probably give me a new one.

Edit: I'm going to wait till the PS3 price drops to 299 before I buy one by then MGS4 will be out and socom will be coming out soon too.

i still have the same one i sent in........bastards told me i was suppose to get a new one! but oh well, they gave me a free month of live and got my xbox back really fast in time for gta4.
