Xbox 360 Videos / Screenshots

Here are a few real in-game videos of a few Xbox 360 games. Nice to see what the next gen will bring us. Can't wait.

You need your popup blocker disabled to view these links:

NBA 2K6 http://www.mtv.com/music/video/index.jhtml?_lpvid=48291

This is probably the most amazing video I've seen. And the best part is that it's all in-game. Here is a quote from IGN:

"While the footage looked pre-rendered, Moore promised that it was the real deal. He also stated that the development team was confident that the level of quality displayed would remain constant when the court was packed with players. The game will be published by Take-Two Interactive. We will have more information on this title next week at E3. "

Go Sega!

Wait...Sega doesn't make console machines anymore, right?

Relax folks...You buy what you buy...and that's still a long ways away...

I plan on buying both systems. But I plan on playing the xbox more.

It's just funny reading the Forza thread and previous xbox vs. PS2 threads and seeing how EITHER side jumps on the others shit.

yeah who even watches MTV anymore? for krissake I don't even know what channel it is on my TV, so even if I wanted to tune in, it would have required some unecessary and undue effort, lol.

look great, but so did all the cgi vids for the saturn, psx, dreamcast, ps2, xbox and any other system that is coming out looks. I saw some old e3 videos of the ps2 before it came out and some of those CGI's looked better than the Xbox looks now. Until i see some in game footage, then i will be wowed.

Every video shown above is In-game. No CGI at all in the videos above.... The time for CGI is essentially over with these next gen consoles.

Every single video was in-game. The best part is that they were running on the Alpha Dev kits - 2x 2.5ghz PPC processor and ATI X800. The final hardware of the Xbox 360 doesn't actually exist (3 x 3.2ghz PPC x 2 threads each & next-gen ATI GPU) yet so the framerates and graphics will look even better in the final product.

I want to see someone at E3 with a controller in their hand playing a demo of a game with real time graphics like that.

Xbox 360 and PS3 will bring us closer to "real-life". I believe the generation after these two systems will deliver games that will be hard to destinguish between which is a movie or which is a game. I can't wait

Yeah, the hardware is definitely getting closer to being capable of delivering real-life looking games, but what about the software developers? How much will they be willing/afford to invest in making such games? Sure, there will be great looking games from big time studios, such as Halo and Gran Turismo, but will they all be great looking just because they're running on the next gen hardwares?

Ultimately I think it's not going to be feasible or efficient to develop or even attempt to develop graphics that look so real you can actually MISTAKE them for real life. I think, the more viable option will be to use digitized video and pictures to assemble the real-life world and present it so seamlessly that it indeed looks like the real-life world, because it IS the real-life world.

There will need to be some way to seamlessly integrate high-resolution digitized video and pictures into the gameplay such that it is believable - the motion, the lighting, those things will need to be developed using software - and this whole process does definitely lie in the hands of the developers.

We have seen games that have used digitized characters and videos before (Mortal Kombat, some Sega CD game I forgot the name of comes to mind - had a shark dude in it???... a good number of others) - but the resolution has been too low due to hardware restraints. I think it will be foolish to try to PROGRAM or DRAW real-life... the look and feel of real life... I think it would just be too inefficient.

could GOOGLE be the at the forefront of possibly giving us this kind of digitized gaming experience in the future????

Scoop! Smile for the Google 3D mapping truck

By Tom Foremski for SiliconValleyWatcher

Google plans to use trucks equipped with lasers and digital photographic equipment to create a realistic 3D online version of San Francisco, and eventually other major US cities.

The move would trump Amazon's A9 service, which offers two-dimensional photos of buildings on US city streets.

The trucks would drive along every San Francisco street using the lasers to measure the dimensions of buildings, to create a 3D framework onto which digital photos can be mapped. This would complement the mostly top-down view of San Francisco available through Google's Keyhole satellite photo application.

The goal is to create similar 3D online versions of other cities in the US and overseas.

There have been several test runs of the specially equipped truck along San Francisco streets. One problem is that vehicles and people can block the automated laser and digital photo systems. This could be eliminated with a second pass, but Google wants to achieve results with a single run.

Researchers at Stanford university are working on this and other city related projects. For example, here is another Google-funded Stanford project.

The Google 3D project would be used to highlight and distinguish the company's push into local business listings—the next big opportunity in online advertising.

Namco unveils Ridge Racer 6 for Xbox 360
Racing franchise drifts onto next-gen console with online multiplayer; new original RPG, soccer game also in the works.

At the Xbox Summit 2005, Namco announced that it is developing Ridge Racer 6 for the Xbox 360. No trailers were shown at the summit, although its logo and a number of screenshots of a car model were shown to the press.

The franchise and many of its racing cousins (Rage Racer, R4: Ridge Racer Type 4) have predominantly burned rubber on Sony's consoles. However, the franchise has recently been driving with other platforms, including the GameCube, Xbox, DS, and PSP. The announcement today also marks the first time the franchise will be Xbox Live-compatible, and Namco confirmed that the game will have downloadable content as well.

Another major announcement made by Namco at the Xbox Summit 2005 was that it is working on an original fantasy role-playing series for the Xbox 360. The game is already in development, but no pictures or trailers were available. Several members of the team behind the "Tales of" series are assisting development of the game.

The publisher also showed a trailer for a new soccer game, titled Love Football, and a new trailer for Frame City Killer, which solely consisted of in-game footage.
