Anyone trade their Xbox 360 for an Elite? How much did you get for your trade in? Thinking about trading mine in.

 

Great question. I just called my local GameStop to find out for you, and they told me that for the 360 Premium (the one with the 20 GB HD), the store credit is $190.

 

Well if any in San Diego wants to trade theirs in I will give you $30 over store credit...........

 

hmmm... our local gamestop is doing $275 for trade in for an Elite.

 

i got 190 for the system (xbox, controller, cables) plus an extra $20 for a special they were running. Plus another $4 for the little remote and $4 for the headset. I traded old games in top of it...but that was all the xbox360 stuff.

I kept the hard drive. because you have to have to have the serial number of your old xbox and the sn of the new one. You fax in a form to MS to get the data trasnfer cable to move your info to the new drive (takes about a week in the mail.)

So, now I think the hard drive is worth like another $20 in trade.

 

That would probably cover the shipping and box, not to mention the hassle of packaging it all

Cant blame ya hehe, but man Be Careful, I would stay away from ANY USED Systems, only get a ELITE!

 

I heard the 3rd generation xbox's with the Samsung drive have corrected all the previous problems

 

Nope where'd u hear this, ALL XBOXes no matter when Manufactured are having Problems, even as of Today, Elite is the only one that has a Different Motherboard, and still it hasnt proven itself just yet, because it just came out, but theres people on the XBOX Forums having problems literally days after getting XBOX 360's even as of NOW!

Guess I'll just wait till to see if the Elite's screw up. I just wanna get it for when Halo 3 comes out.

 

Just get one from COSTCO, there return policy is lifetime, and you also get a warranty from Microsoft, get one and have fun and quit worrying

 

I thought there warranty on electronics changed.

If its still that way with them, I'll roll down there and see if they have an elite. Bestbuy only had one core on their shelf

 

They did Change for Electronics, CONSOLES Not included

The Consoles are still covered, called and even asked them, when I bought it from them

And You wont find one at there store, online only bud, and you gotta wait for them to get it in stock

Thanks, I think I'm just gonna wait till Halo 3 comes out until I buy mine. I keep reading online that after the limited elite sells out, the premium will receive the same chip the elite has.....but down to the premium cost. I hate waiting, but I really don't want to pay $500 for a console right now. Seems outrageous when people are still having problems with the elite. Hopefully something gets fixed in the next few months.

 

The elite has no new chip, the new 65 mn Chips never got released, and wont, the Elite has a slightly varied motherboard, and they applied some epoxy or something to keep it from the red lights, but only time will tell if that fixes the problem, You can always get Premium right now, the Elite has a 120 GB HD and HDMI, if you have a 1080p the HDMI is worth it, or if you put lots of demo games and movies and music the HD is worth it, at least for me it is, and the 360's premium are at costco so thats another thing to keep in mind, just Dont get the CORE

 

Yeah I wouldn't get the core. I would rather get the premium so I can save games and such on the harddrive. So these new chips will never be released? I was looking used here locally until I realized I would only be saving $100 on a premium, but without a warranty. I might just head over to costco at the end of the month and check out their warranty.........the 120gb drive is overkill for me. All I want is the wireless controllers and halo 3

Also does Costco only sell bundles? Or do they sell the console without the bundles?

 

I think all they have is bundles, but you might as well get a bundle, your gonna get a game anyways right? And the bundles throw in like rechargeable battery and extra controller

 

Yeah just swung by at lunch they have the bundle with the extra controller and charger for $459..........I guess the piece of mind of CostCo's warranty covers the extra expense.

So is their warranty a 1 year no questions asked? I asked the front and consoles are not listed in the 90 day catagory.

 

1 Year warranty from MS, and LIFETIME WARRANTY AND RETURNS FROM COSTCO, some people on AZINe mentioned they have returned there XBOX like 6 times

Buy a elite, backup your hdd then sell the premium with hdd and 1 control for 300 on the street or in the black market. you end up spending the same as just upgrading to the 120gb hdd.

That is what I'm going to do when they make the 65nm process chipset.

 

I think that is just microsoft lying so people will keep buy the older systems just like what happened with the elite before it was official that they did indeed have a elite.
M$ will lie to not lose money.
