XBOX 360 / PS3 / WII Which One

Alright guys its been forever since I bought a Console, Only Game I used to love playing was Unreal Tournament Online on the PC, and I used to Love Goldeneye on N64 and The Gran Turismo Games,

Now I am Debating on What System to get and What Games, I want some car games like Gran Turismo, dont know if a New one is out, but I also Love Playing Online, I used to love First Person Shooters and Capture the Flag on Unreal Tournament, but I dont know how that type of game would be played with a Controller, I heard Halo is good, but I am new to the Console Arena, Any Advice Please? Grand Theft Auto was also Fun, and Tony Hawk was fun on the PSP, Man there is so much out nowadays its a Hard Decision, but keep in mind I really want to play Online, so I want a system who has lots of players online, Price of the System is not something I am concerned about as long as there is a good variety of games thanks

Forza or Burnout Revenge (Racing) on the Xbox 360
Gears of War and the upcoming Halo (First person shooter) on Xbox 360

PS3 games are still building up, still not enough games out there.

Wii doesn't look like its really for you, except, they do have Mario Party which has racing.

I say Xbosx 360

I guess I'm kind of partial, because I've never really been a Playstation fan. Evenstill, I was considering a PS3 until I found out about the ridiculous $600 price tag. But since you said price isn't an issue for you, that point is moot. My vote would still be for the 360 though. I have the Forza Demo on my box right now, and it seems to be really good. I also had been playing PGR3 for quite a while, and that is fun as well.

Other good games for the 360 are Gear of War, Rainbow Six 3:vegas, NBA2K7 (if you like sports games). Halo 3 SHOULD be really good, the first one on the regular XBOX certainley didn't dissapoint, and the 2nd one was pretty good as well.

too me the Wii seems a little gimmicky, and I am perfectly happy with my GameCube.

Elite is around $500 i think. it has a 120GB hard drive as opposed to the 20GB on the premium, and also it has HDMI output, but other than being black, I believe those are the only upgrades as opposed to the Premium. It may be hard to find now, since it just came out a few weeks ago. The premiums should be easy to find, and last I heard they were still going for $399. I got mine back in November for $299 due to a $100 rebate.

The 120GB HD by itself is $179.

Ya it was really hard to find, but I finally found one at Circuit City, for $480 with a extra wireless controller, I Am gonna go pick it up later tonight, but I need to know what games to get, also should I get the XBOX Live GOLD for 12 months, it comes with Silver Live included, whats the difference, and also what about the Play and charge kit for the controller

Just keep an eye out here:
http://xbox360tracker.com/elite/ (FYI, it says instock at Circuit City, but its not)

Also, visit your local Best Buy, a lot of them have one or two in the store.

if you love playing online = xbox 360.

if you want fun, highly interactive games = Wii

If you like both = Wii + 360

Playing both, i would say they both have really good winning points on each other.

Price - PS3 - $600
Xbox 360 Elite - $480

However, with the xbox, you have to buy the recharge kit for controllers, xbox live, and hd dvd drive to have the same specs. as the ps3 making it more expensive

games - xbox totally owns on this front - its been on the market for over 1-2 years to bring up winning games such as halo and gears of war for shooting and forza for racing

ps3 has one great shooting game, resistance, and some decent others like F.E.A.R.
Gran t. is going to be released and games are starting to make form.

Online - ps3 is free but somewhat less full of content, the xbox market place is better and allows you to take guests online whereas the ps3 does not

Gears is a great 3rd person shooter which relies alot on strategy and taking cover rather than just kill kill kill... less pace than others

tony hawk, just another skating game in my eyes, tho its fun to just discover places and such

forza is good, a little less realistic than GT which i actually prefer

Elite has twice the hard drive too...

I would wait for Costco bundle on the Elite, best bang for the buck IMO.

As for games, others here also love Rainbox Six Vegas

All of the local stores sold out the first day of release I believe. The day before I ordered mine from the BB website which was about a week and a half ago now, I visited the BB on my way home from work and they said they didn't have any in stock. They also said that they will be getting some in, they just don't have an ETA on it.

My best advice is to do what I did: A few times a day, just check the best buy website to see if they have them in stock. that's what I did, and the day after I went to the best buy store, they appeared on their website as in stock so I ordered one. The funny thing is, I guess not that many people knew about it being in stock, because it stayed "in stock" for at least a day before it was sold out again.

I even posted they were available at the BB website in the 360 thread. I'll do it for a bit longer for you guys that are still looking for them.

So I should go ahead and order it on CircuitCity.com, they are available on there, but I thought if I wait maybe I can find one local

Yea, if you can find it on there, just order it. Unless the shipping charges are a problem for you. I figure the time and or possibility of not getting one is enough to want to just order it online.

Remember, Pro/Premium 360 price of $400 plus the price of buying a 120GB HD at $180 is $100 more than just buying the elite. So if you can get the elite, just get it!

Best Buy didn't offer me in store pickup for the elite otherwise I would have done that. But the reason why they didn't do that is because none of the local best buys had them in stock. Had they had them in stock, in store pick up would be an option.

Unfortunately I can't go through the process of ordering it so if it really works.

yea, the bundles are a tough one. You saved about $13 by getting it through costco compared to buying it at MSRP separately though.

Actually circuit city was the cheaper buy.

Circuit City
Elite + controller + fuzion frenzy = $480 + tax, add play and charge, its $500 + tax

Costco
Elite + controller + pay and charge = $548 ($20 shipping) + tax

BUT, you can't beat the insurance/return policy of Costco.

Yup, definitly cheaper, I was just stating that at least he saved the $13 from costco. the CC purchase no doubt would have been cheaper because of the controller. At this point at least he saved the $100 of not having to buy the 120 GB hard drive with a pro version of the 360.

The play and charge kit has to be plugged into the XBOX360 in order to charge, and eventhough you can charge while you play, that takes away your wireless capability. I had been using rechargable batteries with a regular battery charger, then eventually got a quick charge kit with an additional battery pack. Neither the Quick Charge or Play and Charge is nessecary, but I find the Quick Charge kit a little more convienient than having to manually recharge batteries frequently.

with XBL Silver, you can just download SOME content for games and purchase other content using Microsoft points. But to play games online you need a gold account, and some content can only be downloaded with a Gold account.

One more question what can a Hard Drive be used for? Can you Save your Games on there instead of using the DVD's? Is there any MODS or Hacks for it in use? Also How long does it take to download a One GB Demo, kinda Insane to Download Demos cuz it might take long right and use your Internet Bandwidth

The Hard drive is used for storing Gamer Profiles (saves included), Game Demo's and media files. You can also download full TV show episodes from the XBL Marketplace, using Microsoft points. The only "hack" I know for it is a Data Transfer Kit from Datel which allows you to transfer your game saves to your PC.

One of the cool things I have done using the Transfer Kit is taking screenshots from my game and saving it as a JPEG on my PC using a HEX editor to extract the JPEG image from the file. I did it a few times with screenshots I saved with PGR3.

Download times depend on your ISP speed. I upgraded from 1.5 to 3 Mbps because overall I thought my internet speed was just too slow. Of course doing that also made my XBOX downloads much faster. I can't remember exactly how long it took for me to download a GB demo at 3Mbps , but it couldn't have been much more than an hour.

I am sure there are some other mods you can do as well, but I usually don't mess around with them unless I have to. The only thing I ever done to my regular XBOX was change out the DVD drive because the one that came with it died on me. There is a site called llamma.com or something like that that should have a lot of mods you can do with your 'Box.

Aesthetically, you should be able to change the front plate of your XBOX with a custom cover, but IMO black is already one of the coolest colors you can get.

You can set your Xbox so that when you shut it down, it continues to download updates and then will completely shut off.
