The MTV Xbox 360 unveiling special is set to be aired on MTV in North America on
Thursday, May 12, at 9:30 P.M. Eastern, 8:30PM Central, 7:30PM Mountain, 6:30PM Pacific.

The event was actually filmed this past Thursday night in LA. Most had to sign NDA's, but a bit of info has leaked. Here are some details. Let's see how true these are next Thursday when we can all watch the special:

Hardware:

DVD burner (though according to a MS guy on another board they got this wrong, there's no burner)
tivo capabilities
customization for your xbox (faceplates)
wireless controllers and networking built-in
text messaging on XBL
xbox live button on the controller that pops up a menu with live options

Games:

Perfect Dark Zero
Playable
22 weapons, able to import your own body/face (the camera mapping feature originally planned for the N64 version, but that was cut)
you can fly with a jetpack on the map
counter strike feel
invisibilty gun
Laptop gun makes a return.

A new Medal of Honor game
-Battlefield like

A new Ghost Recon game:
-Ghost Recon 3 with some new HUD

A medieval rpg (Oblivion?)

A MTV schedule posting states that the Xbox 360 will be released this November, which is certainly in line with long-standing rumours:

This special highlights the exciting new generation of XBOX. Packages include: Tours of the design labs Interviews with the designers Behind-the-scenes and inside scoop Never-before-seen footage of new videogames. Trailers of the newest games that are due out in November for the new XBOX. The next generation will be revealed at an event at the Avalon club in LA, hosted by Elijah Wood and featuring performances by The Killers and Snow Patrol.

damiit and i jus got my xbox last november. wow.. well i will sell it and ge tthe new as soon as it comes out. can we play older games in it like ps2?
