Xbox 360 Hunting
In certain areas, they are a pain. But if you have a local mom & pop shop go in and give them a friendly smile and ask them to hold you one on their next shipment. If not, hit sears, target, walmart, kmart, circuit city. And people forget that compusa sells games too.

Compusa sucks. Their invetory is shit. And They are on the VERY low end of the distributors list.
I went to the bestbuy website and used the product tracker to find mine. I simply told the website what product I was looking for in stock (XBOX 360) and what stores I wanted to list. I checked every day for about a week when the store near me finally had some in stock. I went and picked one up. I had to ask someone to get it though as they were stored in the back warehouse area. I found doing this easier than going from store to store or calling every day.
Just out of curiosity, I still check every few days and the stores around me have only had them in stock a few times in the month since I got mine. The go back out of stock in less than a day too so people are snatching them up as soon as they get them.

Does anyone know if the Xbox 360 power supply supports 110v-240v? I have a business trip planned to the UK and was hoping to pick up a console over there since their mostly sold out here in the US.
....with the weak US dollar right now, you're probably gonna pay more... I just posted costco's link to the 360 bundle... probably if not the best deal out there... and if you have problems with it ANY time in the future, you just return and get a full refund

Ahh but you said "Gonna try.... " meaning it might not work. So to make it safe, just order the Costco one. Its in stock.

Microsoft declares 360 shortage is over
Posted Mar 21st 2006 4:00PM by Ross Miller
And so it is, 2 weeks before the Free Xbox Live Gold weekend, that Microsoft has come out with its flight suit on and announces that the Xbox 360 shortage is officially over. In a press release today, Microsoft has promised to "distribute two to three times the number of Xbox 360 consoles to the retail channel weekly," which should satiate the demand for their next-generation offering.
In addition, Microsoft notes that the Xbox Live Marketplace "has reached more than 10 million downloads faster than iTunes did when it launched"--which seems like a big accomplishment, but let's put that in perspective. When the iTunes Music Store was launched in 2003, broadband availability was lower than now (there has been a lot of expansion in 3 years). On top of that, the music store was only available to people who owned Mac computers, which was then an even smaller niche than it is now. Even still, the Marketplace is indeed a huge victory for Microsoft and Microsoft's cash flow, and the end of the shortage should mark a spike in Marketplace purchases.
By our calculations, it has taken Microsoft exactly 119 days (almost 4 months) since the US 360 launch to rid itself of a shortage. Let us see how the Nintendo and Sony launches fare in comparison.

Wal-Mart has Xbox 360 Pro Bundles - starting at $758.97 - I think its good that they let you choose what 4 games you want, from the pretty well-rounded list they give you. Price is kinda steep though, but it also includes 12-month Xbox Live, a 2nd wireless controller and a Play and Charge kit. Oh and also a free bonus faceplate option and a free T-shirt.
