God you guys are so out of it.

Okay...so before Halo 2 came out you saw some people at various shows, forums, etc. talking about ilovebees.com. Looked like a harmless website. Well, they kept dropping very subtle hints about Halo 2. The ones who followed it (went to GPS map locations of pay phones at specific times) were rewarded by a special message, get togethers, etc.

Well, ourcolony.com is the same, but for XBox2. In fact, there's small logos on their website already.

It's basically a big game to get the tiniest bit of detail before anyone else.

It's an "authorized underground marketing scheme".

Actually, this is pretty cool and there is no reason why this thread should be locked. There are some that do care.

I don't have the patience or time to get personally involved in ourcolony, but it's a great new marketing technique and is gaining a lot of followers. It is known as ARG or Alternate Reality Gaming. You will see more of this in the future IMO.

I just used that lock icon for fun - was not (seriously) suggesting that it should be locked.

It's all good.

I guess he posted the wrong address, it is ilovebees.com, not .net.

I for one think this is cool, any hints I can get about the next Xbox are more than welcomed.

XBOX 2 TO BOAST 512MB MEMORY?

Another day, another purported design doc leak

10:40 Well the rumours, innuendo and speculation continue apace today as another purported design document leak pins the Xbox 2's specs as boasting a fairly whopping 512Mb of UMA system memory.

Whether it's true or not is anyone's guess, and it's no use asking Microsoft because they certainly won't be saying before E3. However it could be could be a another viral 'leak' from MS's black ops department to continue to build the Xbox 2 hype.

But if true and we have to stress the 'if' here, that would mean the Xbox 2 or 360 as it seems increasingly likely to be called, will boast eight times the original Xbox's memory capacity which should mean a lot of additional horsepower for next-gen gaming.

I believe this is true as I have heard from a number of places that it will have 512mb of memory... From what I have heard, initially it was going to have 256mb or ram, but the developers made a fairly big stink (especially Bungie) and Microsoft gave in and upped the memory.

The interesting thing is that I have also read that the Cell processor for the PS3 can only address a maximum of 256mb or ram per Cell processor. Since the PS3 will most likely have a single Cell processor, I read that Sony may add 256mb to the NVidia GPU to match the Xbox 360... Pretty interesting stuff... I can't wait to see how it all pans out.

damn this is one crazy war....... the two big dogs fighting for who's the best, and it seems the specs are being readied at the same time, so this is a real competition, unlike previous launches that were staggered between the competitors...

oh yeah - it'll be interesting to finally see how the systems really stack up, with specifications that are actually close to one another.
