So, just for the hell of it, I purchased Half Life 2.. see what all the hype is about.

Everynight until 6 or 7 am, I'd play Counter Strike Source (which came with Half Life 2).. over and over.. even when everyone left and only bots are the only ones remaining on the server.. I'd play until I literally start to become unplayable.

I have work to do, and I'm playing the damn GAME! and I can't stop either. Always thinking.. just 10 minutes, and once I start.. I go ok.. just 30 minutes.. ok 1 hour.. ok.. and it's like 6am and I got nothing done but increased the number of kills in Counter Strike on some unknown server.

I had to take a sick leave from work because I just couldn't get up. That's when I thought this is serious...

Okay, so I uninstalled it.. and since I still had the temptation to install it again.. so I gave it to my housemate.

Now.. I feel better. I know it's going to be tough on me tonight.

I'm gonna have to deal with it.

I don't have any games installed for the same reason. Shit, I got that way with Command & Conquer for DOS! The games out there now would have me addicted in a minute.

Shit, you should have at least played through the HL2 singleplayer. Some of the best gaming on any platform ever.

A buddy was telling me about some girl that died playing Everquest. She spent 56 hours straight playing it, with no food, only 2 bathroom trips, then her computer crashed and she lost her character that she built up. Had a heart attack and died Exercise some self control people

 

i had to quit CS 1.5 long ago because I was seriously addicted and it was affecting my schoolwork

I think my problem was worse. I had "anger management issues" with the EA NHL games. I ended up smashing three controllers because the games pissed me off so much. Needless to say, I haven't purchased any stick and ball sports games in quite a while.

 

You sound like me. I suggest you buy Battlefield 2 to get over your CS:Source addiction. You can't just quit cold turkey you jackass. It's too powerful. Even for someone as determined as you.

 

BF2 is almost as bad as CS, for me at least but with age comes more control. I'm only playing BF2 1-2 hours a day when I play at all.

 

lol i was addicted to cs since i started playing 1.3 in high school... i just got bored cause pubs were too easy and i was too lazy to join a real clan

I was that way with Diablo 2 and Call fo Duty multi player....I HATE VIDEO GAMEs...Too addicting,they are like crack

 

Better not get started with WOW. I know someone who declared non-attendacne cause of that shit.
