What headset do you use for your 360?

Well my original 360 headset, as uncomfortable as it was, remained faithful to me for about 2 years until it finally crapped itself. No longer works.... never dropped it, sat/stepped on it or did any wrong to it.

So I'm looking for an alternate headset.... what do you guys use, besides the original headset? Interested in a volume control and a mute button/switch. Doesn't matter if its wired or wireless, though I prefer wired because there's no chance of disconnecting, no charging required and its cheaper. Thanks!

I'm on my 2nd pair of Motorola, the one that looks like what the footballl head coaches wear. The reason I bought another pair is because I stepped on the adater of the 1st pair and broke the tip. It's not very comfortable because it digs into your head and after awhile it'll start to bother me... sometimes even giving me a headache, but I needed another pair and saw it (believe it or not) TJ Max... CHEAP, like $10 or something so, I'll deal with it for now... would I recommend them? - NO

*digs into your head, sometimes causing headaches (for me anyway)

*after some usage, statics during game play, and I have to keep messin' with the jack...

I had these same problems with the first pair too

I use the headset that came with messenger pad. pretty much same as stock, just a different connector.

I rarely play online, and I almost always have the headset on mute, unless im playing with friends.

I like the original, but I will tell you this any ordinary headset will work, including the one you use for your cell phone, so if you have one that you use for your cell phone it can be used to for your xbox as well.

Personally I hate the ones that dig into your ear.

I have been using my cell phone one, but there is no volume control and its apparently at the maximum all the time, and it is LOUD. I have to switch ears every few minutes because I dont wanna lose my hearing.

I'll go look for one one of these days, I saw this Plantronics over the ear one that looks like the original 360 headset, but reviews said it was more comfortable, plus its only $25 and has volume control/mute.

I have the Microsoft wireless -- since I have an aversion to wires this is the way to go for me. It has good sound, haven't experienced any disconnects, and charging is very simple (plug it into one of the USB ports on the front of the 360).

Halo edition wireless. For some reason, the battery life is better on the Halo one than the original MS white one. Works great

Well if it's soley for your Xbox360 then stick with the original since it's $5 cheaper. The headsets that microsoft are making now are much better quality, there was a quality with all xbox accessories made by microsoft at the time of it's release. They have improved them drastically.

OMG, I just bought this thing, it was it wasn't exactly cheap ($120), but you want the 5.1 surround sound in private AND ability to talk in Live gaming, this thing is great... especially for those late night sessions when everybody's asleep... the only problem is, you tend to forget how loud you're talking... It even has rumble!!! My only complaint is that it's not wireless.... but right now, I've down size to a 26"Sharp LCD and I'm pretty much sitting in front of it, so it's no big deal... scroll down below for link to the specs.

Stock - I rarely use it now. I only use it when playing sports games with friends online.

Old thread revival but... Do any of the headsets listed here work for PC too?

'The Google' says I have to do some conversion. But only half the sites say that?

I wear glasses, and even certain puffy headphones push against the side of my heads till it hurts after a while. Any recommendations?

the one I posted above, YES. And I still love it... great 5.1 surround sound in private!

http://www.trittontechnologies.com/p...s/TRIGA600.htm

they came out with a better model... but from reading the specs... I can't tell what's the improvement on it over the one I have... yet it cost more

Man that thing looks nice.

But I don't know if I can justify $120 for it. I'm only picking up a headset because I've been getting into Left 4 Dead on the PC and voice is a necessity for that game. I don't think I'm a hardcore enough gamer to spend $120.

if it helps, it's around $70 at Costco.com

it's totally worth it... because you can't hear EVERYTHING... great especially for live gaming. Prior to this... there were sounds I never noticed...

On Costco.com right now, they are $89.99. $70 or so isn't too bad... It looks really neat with the true 5.1.

But I have to buy two of them because my sister wants to play. I recently spent $70 on a Geforce 7800 GS AGP to get her computer up to spec + $39 for the game itself.

And now there's been talks my gf wants to join.
