I like having control of my turning. When you turn on a console controller, you have to push right/left and wait for the console to turn me. With a mouse and a keyboard, I can turn in complete 360 degree circle about 10 times to a consoles 1 complete circle..

lies! haha, i grew up playing rainbow six,rouge spear,cs,HL,cs source and only started console fps when golden eye came out, but i still love playing console fps games.

 

Been playing some single player GTR evolution on the PC, but with a xbox360 wireless controller. It's mostly out of laziness. It's just easier to fire up a game on my pc after checking some e-mail without getting my wheel out.

Also on console vs pc thing. Where I play a multi platform game usually depends on who I play it with. I have a group of friends that I play Shooters on the 360 with (cod4 and gears), and a separate group I play with on the PC (usually TF2). I'm fairly adept at both the control schemes so I just don't see the big deal. It's mostly about having fun with some friends.

Right now, SOCOM: Confrontation is all I play on the PS3. I'll jump on Playstation Home every now and then.

 

i can't get used to the feel of playing on console controllers although i did play them growing up like everyone else. i can't believe i think that ps3, consoles and their games are expensive considering the cost of my computer rigs...

I used to play PC exclusively... StarCraft, 3D shooters, side-scrolling shooters, Sims, RTS games; now I don't play any games on my PC. IMO the only games that you MUST play on PC are RTS games. Its too awkward to play on consoles no matter how polished the control scheme is. I used to play Counter-Strike obsessively in middle school, but now for me its all about Halo and CoD4, etc....

I will admit though, I kinda miss the mods that PC has to offer. But not that much. And besides, playing sports games on the computer is retarded, even if you have a controller... unless you have a giant monitor or something.

and seriously how often do you need to do a complete 180 on the spot in a FPS game? If you do, chances are you're about to get killed anyway. Years of playing FPS games has taught me to never look in a straight line while moving.

I just appreciate the tactile feedback of the controller. Its not satisfying to do a melee slash in CS.... when you bash someone in the back of the head in Halo though, you can mash on the button and feel the impact in your hands. I think a modern controller is more complicated, but the actions just seem more natural and fluid.

 

Even though it just came out today and I have a grand total of six laps in it, I believe I'll be changing my efforts from the rFactor 1995 CART mod to this.

I was playing COD4 Modern Warfare for the last month or so, but then my 360 got the three red rings.

it says a lot about a system when i know at least 10-15 ppl who own it and only 1 of them hasn't had the red rings...most of them have had it happen multiple times. i even went into a best buy one day and their display xbox had the red rings. heres photographic evidence...

I had 2 PS1's that took a shit and I also had 2 PS2's take a shit on me. You are not fooling anyone in saying that PS3's are problem free.

360's problems are far more wide-spread. It's pretty much common knowledge that the 360 is a piece of shit. How's Bill Gate's ass taste fanboy?

That being said, I love the 360 and think the PS3 has a long way to go to catch up to the quantity of quality games on 360.

 

yea...well when i spend over $400 on a game console i expect that shit to work properly without having me send it back to them multiple times for something they fucked up on, and continue to fuck up on.

 

Cant even compare - you rarely hear about peoples ps3 giving them issues - mine freezes on occasion.

The ps3 may not be as popular - but more reliable it is.

I am not a fanboy. I have had Sony consoles up to the PS3. They all took a crap on me. I bought my 360 for 1 because PS3 was not out and 2 because I knew I was not getting a PS3 because of my past history with Sony.

I only said what I said because I have heard of people having problems with them. There probably is more problems with the 360.

This was the first time I sent mine in and I have had it for quite awhile. I just sent it back about 2 months ago. So I guess I got lucky.

I did not say what I said because I wanted to start a flame war over which console is better. I don't really care which is better. If I did not have 3 sony consoles go out on me, I would probably have a PS3 right now.

I know several people with both 360s and PS3s but most of them have more games on their PS3 and play their 360 more often. PSN is free but that apparently doesn't mean its better

and who expected this problem to even occur? It was just because they used solder that was prone to cracking (probably due to stricter environmental regulations not allowing lead solder). I'm not a MS fanboy, I thought it was ridiculous how it has a stupid ginormous external power supply yet still runs so hot but I bought it for the games and all of my friends have one... I don't want to play by myself online.

I have a PS3 and PSN sucks compared to Live in terms of gameplay. Oh and I started playing FF7 last night. Pwned because I didn't know how to set up the memory card slot thing to save PS1 games.

 

Three reasons why I got a PS3:

A) At the time, same cost as a cheap blu-ray player
B) Its hooked up to the big screen and acts as a clean media machine
C) GTA IV

 

There are just as many people out there who did not have problems as those who did. I know dozens of people with X360's and only 1 had red rings. I'm not saying there is not an issue, just saying that just b/c you know so many people who have had problems really doesn't mean much. I also know about 7 people with PS3's and 2 of them needed to have their laser replaced. Just b/c I know more people with PS3's having/had problems then X360 problems doesn't mean one system is better/worse then the other....

 

Saints Row 2 for the PS3, multiplayer mode.

 

Oh... forgot to post... just picked up Grid used... so I'll probably play that a little bit tonight.
