I have a film (an avi file) that has subtitles, I'd like to make the subtitles permanent, meaning I don't have to load the SRT file each time.

In addition, I'd like to take a part of that film and make it a clip. I can probably figure that out once the subtitles are in place

 

I think you can use avi2dvd to convert to a file type with the subtitles,

To be honest, after editing it a dozen times I was worried it wouldn't be funny.. i guess thats what a lot of directors and editors go through after 50 takes and months of fiddling around with film
