TV Capture?

Interested in getting a external USB box to capture video/audio from TV.

Does any one have any recommendations on what type/ brand to go with? First hand experience?

cause he has a laptop?

I haven't used an external brand but I got an ATi 550, it old but it works with Vista and has worked well for me, no complaints.
